I meant like for like when Isak is out THIS season. Rotations, injuries etc.
-
I see him only in context with this season. If Isak goes - which I hope he doesn't - then we'll have more than enough money to sign a damn good main striker to add to Wissa.
-
The MGW link is what gives me some hope. Spurs might rather pursue that than a 29 year old striker. Could Levy's legendary stinginess play in our favour?
-
Wissa is not just a squad player though, he's a genuine like for like alternative for Isak.
-
He's more proven than Ekitike. A strike force of Isak and Wissa will be fearsome for this season.
-
I'm planting my flag in the ground now and saying if we get it done, it will be a brilliant signing.
-
I hope we've done our homework and have a good idea that he actually wants to come here over Spurs. You know, like we did with Ekitike and Liver...never mind.
-
Looks to me like we are the ones paying for the chauffeur to take him down the road to Tottenham from Brentford.
-
It's a shame the finishing point will be him in a Spurs shirt after we do all the negotiations for Levy.
-
Howe wants what he wants. Ekitike has no PL experience but we still chased him relentlessly for 3 years so it's not the be all and end all.
-
Not sure about that. Levy would be just as wary of his age as we are.
-
It could well be Liverpool are tapping him up. We wanted him as well as Ekitike, who's to say they don't? I'm not saying they do FWIW, but he will find a club which will pay him top wages, I'm pretty sure of that. I think we'll offer him a better contract with a release clause of around £150m so we'll get at least another year out of him.

Tbf, Howe himself is probably considered an elite manager. Just like Isak he could probably land a job at one of the super clubs if he decided he wanted to move to the next level. He must get a bit frustrated seeing cartel clubs taking all his transfer targets. Imagine what he could do with their squads.
