The only reason he would go is for the money. Liverpool can probably offer him a much heftier pay package than we can, but if Yasir can do something in this regard then would love to think we can match the wages for our truly world class players, PSR or no PSR.

Think the focus has moved more onto Isak since last night. Would be brilliant if we tied up Ekitike while the scousers are chucking in failed bids for Isak.

This is my view as well. The thought of spending £70m+ on an unproven Ekitike while we keep Isak probably makes them feel slightly sick. It's Isak they really want, but then the thought of us having BOTH probably gives them title jitters.

Think we had to sell with a year left on his contract. It was either that or give him a new contract, and that would have lost us all that PSR profit. Don't blame the player, blame the game.

I doubt they are offering that much tbh. It might be 300k at most, and personally I think we have to consider offering close, or just hold on and sell in a year's time. We don't have to pay huge wages to all our players, only the truly world class ones, and I think we might have 2 of those.

I'm not even convinced they want Ekitike. They want Isak, getting Hugo would seem like settling for bronze while we are holding the gold standard.

It was a mistake but it's one we can easily put right. Just offer him a contract similar to what he'd get at Liverpool then go all out to sign Ekitike as well.

Agree. But I think we need to double down on signing Ekitike then holding onto Isak to break their hearts into tiny scouse pieces.

We don't even know if Liverpool are in for him. By all accounts Isak is the one they lust for. The filthy pervs.

This is my view. The key is to keep Isak and then blow the Ekitke funds on someone of similar calibre if he decides to go elsewhere.

Their forward line is not that great if Salah starts to slow up, you can understand why they want Isak. If we have him and add Ekitike as well, you could argue ours would be better.

I think this is how we will play it. Then we take their title from them this season.

Oh I expect he will. Not that I expect Eddie will be any less stubborn. Gonna be an impossible deal for Liverpool this one, maybe they are just getting desperate because we've thrown our hat in the ring for Ekitike.
