He's not going anyway at the prices being mentioned. We aren't paying £40m for a 29 year old and neither are Spurs.
  2. They just have to decide on what their transfer policy is tbh. When Eales brought in Mitchell it was with the idea of buying players before they became well known and for much cheaper prices. It wasn't the worst idea but it means we would be going head to head with Bournemouth and Brighton rather than Man U and Chelsea. Howe wants proven players and that's where the conflict happened. If we are going to back Howe then we need to bring in a DOF who thinks the same way he does, then we have to somehow find the money to bring in more expensive players.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

While I don't think we should be paying daft wages to Osimhen, I don't see why everyone in the squad should demand parity. The likes of Isak and maybe Tonali are among the world's best so they can for sure. But Bruno....not so sure. The rest....nah.

Kluivert feels like we'd be buying at peak value. He had a great season, but he's not done much before that.
  5. The rules are doing what they were designed for.

More likely to be Spurs from the rumours.
  7. Tbf, both times we've been in, we've been up against the world's biggest teams in PSG and now Liverpool. If those sort of teams weren't jumping in, he'd probably be a Newcastle player by now.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Pedro and Ekitike were longstanding targets. We only missed out because we couldn't land them earlier when we first identified them. Once the cartel clubs caught on a couple of years later, that was always going to make it harder. I think we just have to do the same again. Clubs like Brentford and Brighton have to be creative to find the players before they have got big league attention, we should at least be able to beat them to the lesser known talent pool.
  9. Think he's got great potential without doubt, but it's a lot of money to pay for someone who isn't proven in the PL. I also think we obviously aren't the right club for him, he wants the biggest names possible to associate himself with. He could well be fed up of Liverpool within 12 months just because he fancies being in Madrid or Milan instead.
  10. Depends which rumour you believe. There was one earlier today knocking about that he wants only us not Liverpool. Now we've got one saying he wants only Liverpool and no one else. You pays your money and takes yer choice.
  11. It's worse because they should be more grounded actually being from Liverpool. At least with Arsenal most of them probably don't even know what part of London they are supposed to represent.
  12. How does that help them when we beat them 4-1 with two goals each for Isak and Hugo?
  13. Yeah I think that's fair enough. We'll obviously make the release clause high enough so that if it's triggered it's a fee that we can live with.
  14. Liverpool are really pissed we won't sell them Isak. That's my take on them MAYBE considering a bid for Ekitike. Possibly.
  15. I think he's made a decent move tbf, Leeds are going for big physical players to try for PL survival, Longstaff will fit right into that sort of team. It's noticeable his contributions here went down once we started to play more possession football.
  16. It's not complicated at all. He wants top money as he knows he can get it if he moves. We will either give him a pay rise or sell him in 12 months.
  17. Was just about to post this in the Eddie Howe thread. It gives me massive reassurance that this man is our leader at times like this. He is massively competitive and will not allow Liverpool to play Billy Big Bollocks with us.
  18. I doubt their links go back to 2022 when we were first lining him up to come here.
  19. They must be fuming that we might be in a position to have both players on our books this season. Absolutely raging.
  20. One of the reasons I refuse to think about Isak leaving is that he absolutely destroys their world class defence EVERY season. I enjoy that so much I can't even get close to expressing it in words.
  21. I think this should be used as a watershed moment. Isak is fully entitled to feel he should be getting paid what he's worth, we should find some way to make that happen. If we really want to be No 1 as is PIF's repeated claim, then we need to pay No 1 wages. It's not like we've got a dozen of them on our books, we only need to pay the 2-3 who can really command it.
  22. He's brought his daughter to games, I do think he takes more than a passing interest like.
