  1. Leeds will be perfect for him. Just a 90 min drive, he could commute if he really wanted to.

They've got a thread for Longstaff's sale to Leeds? Fuck me they are pathetic.
  3. It's not. Howe was a big admirer going back a couple of years, this was mentioned yesterday as well.
  4. Reminds me of the Alan Oliver glory days when he would have the ears of all our local lads like Lee Clark and get those juicy exclusives.

Agree with this. At their best, Man City were very hard to defend against even with a low block because they just kept possession relentlessly. But they also had the best technical players in the world, so they had the skills to work openings even in the tightest of spaces as a team, not necessarily relying on an idividual bit of magic either. Liverpool under Klopp were very hard to defend against as well, they would just overwhem teams with pace and skill. But again, you do need a few of the world's best players to be a Liverpool or a Man City. You aren't getting these players for £40-50m.
  6. They can surely find some other striker to fail with?
  7. Would really hate to see Callum end up at Man U, not gonna lie. Would sour my memories of him here.

To a point it is justified. But the type of players who can genuinely unlock a low block cost a fortune, and all the biggest clubs are after them. You are talking about a Salah or a Yamal really. I did wonder about Grealish for this, but even he's already on sky high wages so we can't afford it even if we wanted him.

It's a badge of honour, never mind a compliment.
  10. If we were offering him another contract he'd sign it like a shot.
  11. If he's still got that turn of pace, could be a real asset if he stays injury free. He;s not just a tall guy good in the air, he can pull wide as well.
  12. That first line is how I'd like to remember him. I'm a sucker for an inventive finish, and Wilson always found a way. I think if he'd stayed injury free he would have gone down as not only a great PL striker, but possibly an England one as well.
  13. I think Eddie probably loved him tbh, he's Newcastle through and through. Just not good enough sadly, and Howe has to be ruthless because his own job depends on it.
  14. That's why I think we release Longstaff before Willock. We have other players who can cover right side midfield like Tonali and Miley. Only Willock can really cover Joelinton. Of course we would probably sell Willock as well if we get a decent fee, and look to buy a replacement.

I don't think any club's paying £50m for him like.

I've said this earlier, I want Tripps to stay. Think he'll be worth his weight in a CL season.

Imagine having Tino and Elanga burning down one side, and Hall and Gordon down the other. Then the Ice Man in the middle ffs.

Sounds like the price is about right then.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Feels like the Elanga deal is going to open the floodgates. The question is: who WON'T want to be part of this now?

He can do the 100m in 10.8 seconds apparently, so shouldn't take him long to get here.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Think that will be the main issue. They should be able to do a job for someone in the Premier but the sort of clubs that will want them won't want to pay toon wages. I think that's the same for Targett.

If you changed that to immigrants being kicked in Sunderland to the point where they are barely alive it would sound more apt.

It's either that or give Longstaff a new contract. Willock still has 2 years left I think but we'd probably look to sell him rather than renew given his recent injury record is poor.
