  1. I support anyone who does well for the club mate, and just right now the new owner and his chairman are doing decidedly worse than their predecessors. This might not suit your "opinion" but its true. Even if it is is true, do you have to keep blathering on about it day after day, month after month, year after year, on and on and on and on.....
  2. He should be given a new contract on lower wages if it's going to be performance based.
  3. What I admire about the Fat Bastard is that he takes holidays and knows when to take a rest. Wish we could say the same about his supporters.
  4. BEAUTIFULLY put. That sums up the mentality of so many on here. Its still in our hands - but we need a DRAMATIC change in attitude by players and manager. To be fair, you couldn't really fault the players attitude yesterday. They had a right good go, but some of them just aren't good enough in front of goal. Duff, Smith and Milner (who had a good game otherwise). Only Owen looks like scoring and he needs help. Martins and Zog should be starting for that reason alone.
  5. The best thing about Enrique is he releases Zog further forward. N'Zogbia produced more dangerous crosses in 15 mins than Duff did all game.
  6. There was a bloke the day before we appointed him saying he'd take the job who was probably the closest we were ever going to get to a Ramos/Wenger type, but we ignored him. It was a great appointment for a day or so for nostalgia, but do people REALLY think and expect him to change us much? Who was that? The fella who was worried about coming because there were no French schools in Newcastle?

It's got to the stage now where I think it's pointless moaning about the team selection. 9 games left and we'll just have to hope Smith can do a David Kelly somewhere, even if it goes in off his arse. Maybe Duff can score with his elbow and Barton can sneak one in with his hand. About time he put his fists to some productive use.
  8. anyone but the fat bastard Fred People such as mick will tell you that because he called us nasty names and ate all the pies, made all the managerial decisons on his own and backed his managers more than anybody in the previous 50 years [strange one that like] we would automatically do miles better without Fat Fred the fat bastard at the helm. Things are going absolutely brilliantly since the fat bastard left and took his pies home with him, and so we are of course doing massively better because anything we didn't do perfectlly in the past was all the fault of the fat bastard and his pies which were obvously alright We've came on leaps and bounds since he left Bravo. Just the sort of positive attitude we need right now. We are fighting for our lives and people are still sniping away with one track agendas.
  9. Still 100% behind Keegan. He's firefighting at the moment, this situation was brewing long before he arrived.
  10. We played poorly against Blackburn did we? Those teams are scrapping for their lives and picking up points. I don't know who they're playing but teams like Tottenham who have nowt to play for might just hand them the points. We're also playing Spurs though... But we'll be playing pretty football without goals, and will allow Spurs players the freedom to play as well. I'm not trying to be negative, but I really don't think we have the right mentality for a relegation scrap while Wigan, Bolton and Birmingham do.

honesty and hard work outside the box won't get you goals Kev. You have to get in there and strike a shot. Or make a run towards goal not the corner flag. These things will help.

  13. I think someone said we have got 3 out of the last possible 33. Will we get more than 3 out of the next 30 bearing in mind that the fxitures arent quite as frightening as they have been (only just). ?? The key fixtures are at home to other relegaion candidates. We can win those games but not if we play them on their terms.
  14. We want to play attacking football, which with our defence is understandable. But when our attacking players consist of players who can't remember what it feels like to score, is it still a wise option? Duff Milner Smith Barton Butt These are all attacking players, Butt apart, who can't score a goal between them to save their lives. If they are going to be in the starting line up, then maybe we should re-consider our tactics?
  15. Those matches will be won by the sides who can stand strong and united under pressure. Which is why I'm worried. We did that today. Only by the Grace of God and the ineptitude of Duff and Owen did we not beat Blackburn out of sight. We played well yeah. But once again we didn't score, and if you look through those players starting today not many get goals as part of their CV. Milner? Duff? Butt? Barton? Wait for it...Smith? (don't laugh). Who's going to score the goals seeing as these guys, attacking players all of them other than Butt, seem to think the opposition penalty area is a no-go zone?

    Steven Taylor

Whether he's a geordie isn't the real issue. Great if he is, but if he's not much of a defender then it's immaterial. Is he good enough? No. That's all that counts.
  18. If Enrique's back does that mean Zog is dropped or will he (hopefully) replace one of our misfiring midfielders?

Louise Taylor (The Guardian) That's rich considering she was practically pimping him for the job back then.
  20. I agree about Dyer and I said it when he used to get crucified here. But I think Martins pace was instrumental as well. Even if he only scores against the weaker teams in the run in, it could keep us up.

    Why is Owen captain?

PR move to get Owen onside.

I don't think anyone criticises Taylor because he's a local. The criticisms are generally on his actual ability and performance, whereas the praise and adulation is based on his being a geordie who gives his all, loves the badge etc. Thats shite IMO. He gets more shit for being a Geordie than he does unwarranted praise. Being a geordie has become a stick to hit him with over the last 12 months. No one's ever criticised him for being a geordie thoguh have they?
