  1. If we qualify for the CL I think we will be signing one or two.

I pretty much know already. He'd suit a Moyes team basically. Physical and direct, not too much intricate passing.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I know he doesn't want to leave, but a move to Leeds would probably be the next best thing for a home bird like Longstaff. It's barely two hours up the road. He could commute if he really wanted to stay put here.
  4. If we qualify for the CL I am almost certain we keep all our purples. Not only do they want to play in the CL, but they want to play for a team that can do well in the CL. We can go a long way in it.
  5. Chelsea are a difficult team to predict. They haven't played well this season, but they still have around the same points as us. It's a squad full of expensive players, I am always wary of teams like that, because on the day everything can just click and what looks like a win ends up being a draw, or something we don't even want to contemplate. I think we'll win, but it's a dangerous fixture.
  6. Depends if they make CL at the end of the day. If they don't, I think it will have been considered an expensive punt.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think that might put us behind the queue to clubs like Man U and Chelsea unfortunately. He's far more likely to be first choice there. Although whether either of them would want to risk a punt on him being good enough is debatable. They would want someone more proven I think.

Tbf, he'll probably fancy his chances of replacing Hojlund or Jackson far more than Isak.
  9. There are usually pretty hefty loan fees as well, that is why most clubs avoid loan deals these days.
  10. More interested in what them losing out on the CL positions would do given they have gambled quite a lot on expensive loan signings in the hope of qualifying again.
  11. We've lost to them twice this season, but they have hardly been great otherwise. We should be looking at how other teams are having success against them and tweak our game plan to that. Especially if Joelinton is out.

    Jacob Murphy

That might be taking it a touch too far I think.

    Joe Willock

I don't mind him being sold, I don't think it's worked out for him here, and his injuries have worked against him. But right now I'm happy he's still here as I don't really see the other options to replace Joelinton unless we change our formation.
  14. Yeah I like Delap tbf, but I do think Osula is capable of rattling defences if you are chasing a goal.
  15. Joelinton being fit might still have a big bearing on where we finish. I don't really like any of the options we have to replace him.
  16. Read something today about him being loaned to Ipswich next season to give us first shot at Delap. I can see how that might work tbh, I hadn't really thought Delap would come here before that. Not sure how I would feel about losing Osula next season though.

    Joelinton

Agree, but we don't really know what the result of his assessment is yet. It could be he is ruled out for the rest of the season if it's felt it needs to be fixed immediately. Hopefully not obviously, but the last I heard he was seeing a specialist and we take it from there.

    Joe Willock

Not really the ideal game for him to be fair, they were camped in their own half, and he is best when he's got space to run into. That's why I think criticism today is a bit harsh, he put in a decent shift for me.

    Jacob Murphy

Yeah we know he can put in a decent cross, and strike the ball well, but today I thought he played some nice interchanges, some genuinely good touches which almost got us in a few times.
  20. Makes himself available for return balls as well. Must be horrific playing against him, he seems to be everywhere.
  21. Fair play to Palace, they nullified them with a great game plan.
  22. Isak was generally very tightly marked, there wasn't any space for him... or anyone else for that matter. They dropped very deep, he's generally better when he's got some space to run into.

    Joelinton

Let's hope it's neither then. We need him for the last 4 games.

    Joe Willock

Thought he was ok tbh. Bruno was the best midfielder by a long way today, but Willock did a job. Maybe I'd have been harsher if we hadn't won.
