Howe just knows how to spot the qualities of every player and bring them out. Dummett was always a good defender, Howe found a way to bring him into the side at exactly the right time when most of us were wondering why he was given a contract extension.
-
That was fabulous, but what was even better was to see him back in the left central area controlling the ball under pressure and linking up with Little Joe, Hall, Gordon and Almiron. Almost forgot what a dominant left side looked like.

It was a fantastic strike, placed it like a laser guided missile.
-
Chuffed to see he cut inside Dalot when in on goal instead of going wide, that gave him the shot on goal which he missed last time. Great finish once he was in.
-
Not even in a familiar position. He was playing with another full back as a partner. Incredible stuff.
-
Very important that, his pace along with Miggy really gave them problems in the first half and made up for the loss of Isak and Barnes. Man U were so rattled they had to bring on Wan Bissake to try and stem the tide, but the passing and movement were not so easy to stop as Maxi on his lone runs in the cup final last time.

That shot from 25 yards which screamed past the post looked all the way like goal of the season material. He has skills in the locker and Howe is the manager who can bring them out.

The man is a legend in the making. Who else could put out a team with Dummett and Krafth playing centre backs when it's neither's natural position, play Matt Ritchie when he can barely run these days, and beat Man U at their own ground 3-0? It's unbelievable. It's like Keegan's been reborn in the modern era with an infusion of ice running through his veins.

Honestly felt like we were going to be playing with 10 men when he was announced, but even if his legs have gone, he'll find a way.
-
The only good coming out of this is we are knocking out a lot of potential winners so the further we go, we are more or less guaranteed a cup.
-
Haven't been keeping up with this thread, seeing how everyone seems to think Wilson won't start, I'm glad I was out of it. Feels like we are almost handing them the tie by default.
-
He's always seemed relatively invisible when I watched him. I was really surprised they bought him tbh.
-
He was finding himself surrounded by players closing him down. In the first half he always found a way out and that set us up for some great plays, in the second half he was getting caught more and then trying to buy a free kick. Hard to know if that was him tiring or not enough options to pass the ball to someone else. I think he needs others to get closer to him instead of waiting for him to do something clever.

Injuries have come at a bad time as well. Our next two games are Man U and Arsenal, our chances of getting results in those are obviously going to be affected.
-
I think Barnes will be a good signing long term, but in the short term we are going to struggle to stay in there if we get a few injuries. Especially considering Livramento and Hall are also long term investments and don't seem to be playing much even when we are stretched thin.
-
They had Neto, we had Almiron. I love Miggy as much as anyone, but while we've got players of that calibre in the team - and we had four or five yesterday - it's not going to be easy winning games even with the best tactics. A point was a decent result in the end, we don't look so great when we have a few key players out.
-
He's doing a fine job as manager, but I wish Neto had got injured last week instead of during this game. They probably don't have the squad to cover a loss like that.
-
He did some good stuff, a few important blocks, but wide players are just knocking it forward and breezing past him these days. His lack of pace leaves a gaping hole down that side.
-
I still don't think he'd have saved it mind, it went inside the post.
-
Pickford's gaffes are just gaffe's, he's a cocky cunt generally. At international level you won't get picked if your temperament looks a bit fragile.
-
Dubravka might not be elite level but he's a good keeper, and is more sure of his own ability and decision making IMO.
-
I'd agree with that if we didn't have fresh legs on the bench, but we spent enough money on Tino, Hall and Targett and all of them have enough Prem experience to help out.
-
Count me in.
-
Wet ball or not, his decision making looks all over the place. A keeper needs to 100% believe in himself, and at the moment he doesn't give that impression. Got caught in two minds for the first one, then had an easy catch with no one challenging and bottled it.

Longstaff with another shit cross when in behind.
