Not going to argue with you there.

Can only hope Eddie's seen something that these people are missing. Or that the rumour is just a Baldwards prank.

Hard pressing wise, I get the attraction. But can he actually retain the ball once he's got it? There is a reason Man U were doing terribly before Casimero. McTominay was probably one of them.

Don't you say that about every signing?
  5. I dont' doubt he's better than what we've got. What I doubt is that he's the best we can get. There's the whole world to choose from to buy a midfielder, I really can't see why we would want a player who wasn't good enough for Man U.
  6. That too for £15-20m. Shows how much he really values him.
  7. This is precisely the sort of reasoning I was talking about in the previous post. Being better than Longstaff shouldn't be the remit.
  8. This talk of "but he'd improve us" is missing the point. Every signing we make has to be one that will challenge Man U, I don't see how buying their cast offs is taking us where we want to go. Unless Howe has seen something everyone else is missing, including Ten Hag.
  9. I've heard this view expressed often but never seen him lie at all about injuries.
  10. ASM was awful I agree, but there's no way Howe would have said he had a hamstring injury unless he genuinely had one. I'm actually one of the more vocal critics of ASM on here, I don't rate his penchant for hanging onto the ball too long, but Howe isn't going to lie about an injury.

I used to have a soft spot for boro back in the Juninho days, but since Bernie Slaven started running his mouth off against Newcastle back on that radio talkshow they used to have with Supermac on it, I really can't be arsed with them. As for Sunderland, maybe if they merged with some nearby village and renamed themselves Washington, maybe.
  12. This basically. Jones is a well regarded coach as far as I know, Howe seemed more than happy enough to keep him on.
  13. Howe will win a trophy IMO. That will make him the greatest manager in our history. Poch got sacked by Levy so one of those two was missing something.
  14. That has alleviated some concern, sounds about right. I fucking hope it is, don't ever want to see him back here, loveable Kiwi that he is. But I do hope that him and Shelvey will keep Forest up, would feel a bit guilty if they went down after signing so many ex-Toon players in a bid to stay up. Colback as well, dear me.
  15. Check his trophy record though. I do wonder why Spurs would ever go back to Poch even though he's one of my favourite managers in the Prem in recent times. He's won nothing of note has he?
  16. Is that actually official? Because on Sky when they were interviewing Wood they had a caption on the bottom of the screen that he is on loan.
  17. Lord take me from this earth if I am constantly to be reminded of this blight upon our time.
  18. I'm absolutely delighted he mentioned the ownership, that is the biggest chance of him getting sacked tbh. Levy wouldn't give a fuck about him slagging the players, but he'll be fuming that he's been fingered.
  19. I'm in two minds about this. Conte did similar last season and he turned it around in the run in. I would love to think Spurs will implode, but more likely he's right, they are a bunch of comfortable bastards who need this sort of rocket up their arse. Hopefully they really are too comfortable and will just think, fuck him, let's wait for him to get sacked, but I doubt it. They are still in a great position to get top 4.
  20. I'd still fancy Davros to go long distance over Shelvey mind. The ruthless cunt made better use of a wheelchair than Shelvey has done with his legs.

    Alexander Isak

It was a good effort when we didn't know much about him, but now he has a new identity and he needs a flag to match.
  22. The real genius of Howe is that if there's a sliver of talent in a player he is going to unearth it, assuming that player actually wants it enough. Just look at what he's done with Almiron. Got him making far more aggressive moves for goal pre-season, which he carried on into the first half of the campaign. As soon as he dropped a touch, on the bench, then he came on with fire in his belly to score the winner last week. Willock has been transformed from a half arsed moocher, into a box to box machine selling dummies and back heels and hunting down defenders in the press. Even Murphy looks like he's playing with some purpose now, and if there's an ounce of desire to reach his potential, Howe will find it.
  23. Forest fans were up a notch on a lot grounds around the country, they really pumped up the atmosphere so that would have helped hype us up as well.
  24. For those of us who weren't around in the halcyon days of Dr Who.
