  1. Yeah I'd be surprised if we don't make a couple more signings, things should hot up as the deadline approaches.
  2. So that means their interest in Laimer has cooled? We certainly need some quality in that area, but if we're still going to nip in last minute for Paqueta or Maddison, I can understand if we are holding back on this one.
  3. It's a shame so many key players are going to be missing, I was really fancying our chances against them this time. I mean as much as you can, they would still be favourites obviously, but what we did against Man City shows we can compete with the best now. But we do need our best players.
  4. If Ajax won't sell us Alvarez, then you would like to think there must be a viable alternative out there who could do a similar job. It's a hole in our squad IMO, I know you can play Bruno there, but I still think he'd be better alongside a true DM.
  5. Agreed. But it's possible to attack the messengers if you think they are cunts, and for me Oliver Holt and Edwards certainly fit the bill there.
  6. Seems like half the Premier league clubs are after Chelsea players tbh, not to mention clubs in Germany. Not even sure if one of them will arrive here since Chelsea probably see us as an emerging threat.
  7. We are probably going to struggle to sign him if Liverpool are after him, especially as midfield is probably the area which they are looking to bolster.
  8. Love the way we are purposely bringing the ball out from the back now, what a warm fuzzy feeling I get when I see Pope rolling the ball out to the nearest man instead of hoofing it long.
  9. It looked better than I thought tbh, the colour of the green shorts was really striking and set the white shirts off beautifully. I do get the hypocritical protests from the snidey journo's, it's not a great look to be advertising SA, and of course if you don't like NUFC then it's perfectly understandable to use any opportunity to get a dig in. It's fine, but then we can tell them to go fuck themselves as well. It's all good.
  10. I'm one of those who thinks Darlow is ok as a number 2 so I don't think we need a replacement. As @madras has pointed out above, there must be a loan fee involved as well.
  11. Yeah you know logically, that no one at the club is going to give him that sort of information, but it still leaves just a tiny doubt niggling away at the back of your mind. This is why he does it.
  12. Couldn't give a fuck one way or the other. We should tell them to do one in all honesty, but we don't really want an unhappy player stinking up the place. At least if he leaves it will free up a squad space for one of the hungrier players.
  13. I wonder if we can still do a deal for £50m? According to wankstain Luke Edwards it's loans only after the £60m splurge on Isak.
  14. Such a frustrating player. I've more or less written him off previously due to his woeful fitness record, but when he comes on today, the quality of delivery was immaculate, and he was just really intelligent in that final third, which we struggled with all afternoon before he came on.
  15. Yeah maybe I'm just being over critical, I never felt confident at all today when we were lining up for them.
  16. I liked that he showed a bit of disappointment about our work in the final third, not like him to criticise specifically, but it was frustrating to see us getting into some good areas, and once again either the cross wsan't good enough, or there just weren't enough people attacking the box.
  17. I hope you're right. And tbh, Trips was having a bad day for deliveries today, most of his corners weren't clearing the first man.

    Joe Willock

I like Anderson, but I hope our fans are a bit more lenient if he doesn't set the world on fire when he finally starts. I thought he struggled a bit against Tranmere, just it seems he's the golden boy right now so people will give him more leeway.

    Joe Willock

I really don't think people who berate on him game after game are actually watching how much work he puts in. Not only does he press pretty effectively, he does try to make stuff happen when he has the ball. Will he be one of those replaced when we sign someone like Maddison? Yes, but that's not to say he's doing a bad job. He looked one of our few good performers against Tranmere, but he was gettting stick in that game as well.
  20. The technique was immaculate on that strike though, he even got it to dip, and that ball was coming down from a fair height.
  21. Hard to say though, that's a technique some players are quite savvy with, you can hit it to a certain area where there's a good chance it will go through a defender's legs if he's stretching. Not really sure if that was Willock not closing down quite quick enough, or just a really clever strike.
  22. Well that's kind of my point, he hasn't made a great connection in any of the games so far, but it's obviously early days for him, we might see him contribute more once he gets a feel for the game here. Wolves are a tough side to break down as well, they defended pretty well most of that game.
  23. 13 corners and we never looked like scoring from one. For all the height in the side now, we don't really have anyone who attacks the ball with any real venom. One area where Lascelles is a miss. We need to work on those, we should be posing a lot more threat.
  24. I mean, isn't that part of his remit? That sort of movement is what you need if you want to progress the ball rather than just pass the ball sideways and backwards.
  25. Longstaff was much worse, Willock was ok I thought, but then I never think he's as bad as some people on here make out. He presses effectively, and at least he wasn't giving the ball away repeatedly like some of his co midfielders.
