Not sure Moyes will be the right man to use him correctly mind, his sides have usually been more about pace and power than finesse. I'm sure the lad's a very fine player, but can't recall a Moyes side using a number 10 type of player particularly effectively before.

Like the Alvarez deal just seems to be let's have a go and see if it might happen. You'd like to think there are more doable deals bubbling away in the background.

Alvarez feels like it's going to be a waste of time at this stage of the window if Ajax have no intention of letting him go. We need to be hunting down alternatives instead of banging our heads against a brick wall.

None of the big clubs came in for Paqueta, the only conclusion can be that he's a serously flawed player. Could have dodged a bullet here.

We could make both deals happen tbh, Leicester put a price tag on Maddison, and the Pedro deal's there if we want it as well. I suppose it just depends how badly we want them done.

I know Howe won't do it, but I really think a young lad like Elliott would revel in a game like that against such a famous club. I agree. I can see the sense in letting Dubravka go, although I'm not sure what the big attraction is of being a second choice at Man U. Can only assume he thinks he might displace de Gea who has had one or two howlers already this season. The only niggle seems to be the price which seems to be around £5m.
