I think the other thing to consider is, once it gets to a lowish fee below £6m, then the club might just think for the cost of replacing him, might as well just use him for the final year. I assume they rate him quite highly.

I saw a video of him, he looked pretty good mind. Powerful, and very decent at bringing the ball out.

Would be great if he could grow into a better player as the team improves. He's literally got everything, pace, power, a canon of a right foot....if he could release the ball early now and then he'd be winning that Balon D'Or. Will be interesting to see how he develops over the next 12 months as we keep upgrading the squad.

I wouldn't take fans views as a benchmark tbh. Can remember some really scathing views on Enrique, Colo, Joelinton and Manquillo on here in the not too distant past. I don't really know that much about him, but looks like he's got pace, from what others say, seems like he has a finisher's instinct. I get Origi has scored important goals at Liverpool, but does he offer that much different to Wood?

Think we'll bring him in tbh, he's not a glamorous signing like Carlos, but he actually has all the attributes which would be really useful, not only immediately, but as a squad player for the next few years. Could be a really shrewd signing and very good value to boot. Think he could turn out to be a fantastic signing actually.

Got to agree with this, while I'd much rather spend £25m on Ekitike most days of the week, would he be the right signing in a relegation battle? Easy for fans to say this, but you have to go with proven record at this level and in this country, over potential. Safety from relegation has to come first in this window, and I can't hand on heart say I'd have done any different if our survival was on the line.

I think it will come back on them in the long run. Man U were the biggest and most glamorous club in England a decade ago, now they are getting outgunned in the transfer market, their petty squabling over money is making them look cheap. They should treat their long standing players with some respect if they want it in return.

Yeah he'd be a decent investment regardless as he's coming out of contract in the summer, but we should still get a proven striker to guarantee safety for this year IMO.
