If he doesn't want to go then we can't force him and he shouldn't get stick for it on a personal level. That said, we desperately need a new RW even if he and Murphy both stay. If Miggy not leaving means it has to be a loan to buy next summer then so be it. Neither are good enough to be first choice anymore and if he does stay I really hope it's as a bit part player, essentially fighting it out with Murphy to be the fourth choice wide man.

This is only really a discussion because we've neglected the RW position so long and the two current options we have there are both probably not good enough to be backups for a team with aspirations of pushing on and becoming one of the top sides in the country, never mind being a starter. Frankly, with the intensity and work rate our style of football demands from the front three, Gordon being first choice and Barnes being an impact sub who can also start plenty of games to rest Gordon is exactly where I hope we'll be this time next season with European football to be taken into account.

No RW signing would be extremely disappointing like. It'll stand out like a sore thumb in our strongest eleven. It's also not really fair to expect Gordon to move to being predominantly a RW when he's taken a massive leap as a player playing on the left. Maybe he'd excel on that side but how many of the top wide players in a front three don't play on the side that has them cutting in on their stronger side? Feels like not the best way to show Gordon that Newcastle is the place he can achieve the things he seemingly wants in his career.

PSR will continue to be an issue and we'll likely keeping skating on thin ice as we seek to push as hard as we can to challenge for top four. Hopefully we'll be able to shift less crucial players when the time comes, however it's entirely possible that we'll have to sell Gordon, Isak, Bruno or one of our other stars next summer. However, if we do you can be sure that we'll reinvest every single penny that we can to try to make it a net gain for our team. Personally hope we roll the dice to some extent. Guehi just ticks too many boxes. Good on the ball, adds the pace we lack, proven PL player and seems to resoundingly pass the "no dickheads" rule. Aside from bad injury luck, it's almost impossible to see him not being a resounding success here.

There's a decent possibility that Hall was more someone Ashworth wanted? I think there'll be some games where Kelly may be preferred at LB but I'm hopeful that Hall will have a chance to compete for the first choice role. That said, even if the plan is for a more defensive LB to be the standard there's a role for Hall. Can absolutely see him being extremely good in the LCM role. Also, he's still a teenager. Don't think we need to panic if he's not a locked in first choice player. Him being comfortable at two positions means he'll see the pitch plenty.

Get Roque in and move Wilson and Almiron on. Gordon, Barnes, Isak, Roque, New RW, Murphy and Osula is hardly an embarrassment of riches for the front three, like. We're all collectively just used to having no depth at all so it seems like it is.
