Aye, pity about the complete lack of end product though.
-
Was gonna say, terrible from Big Sam as we'd no real threat in behind so Chelsea could afford to puch men at us. That and Owen was blatantly gonna be rubbish in a game like this. Ruined what was a very good day for Sam until then.
-
Absolute mile offside. Very disappointed we blatantly tried to shut up shop with 15 minutes left, pity after such a good second half until then.
-
I'd rather we go for it. Even if we lose, still a lot of positives to take and shows something from Big Sam that we want to see.

So what? Zoggy gets forward and we score?? Fancy that. C'MON!!!!

A run of games at centre forward might help? But don't hold me to that! No, it won't. Agree he should get a run of games there, but it'll not magically improve the fact that he has absolutely no composure. Aye, he's no Brodie Croyle like Jay Cutler ftw. Jay Cutler does look the business. That is Herm Edwards in your avatar thouhg isn't it? blueyes.gif Yeah, just really like the picture tbh. Oh right ... I was worried for you. Kansas City stink. Anyway ... Newcastle stuff. What's the score again? 1-0, doing well by all accounts. And yeah, Chiefs should suck for the foreseeable future. Great stuff

Anyone remember Martins' first goal for us, against West Ham? What the fuck was up with that?

What a shit response by Mowen.

Consistency is over-rated. Trust me, we're playing very consistently at the moment.

Nice handball from Cole there.

Mine too, on the ball anyway. If we are to have any chance they need to play the ball on the floor. With that trio in central midfield, we will be utterly incapable of playing the ball on the floor. Well we're doing OK at the moment, we've had a few chances, are passing the ball about and looking to get at Chelsea. Aye, fair enough. Be shocked if it lasts, howay the lads though.
-
Be shocked if this is anything other than a tepid 2 or 3 goal vcitory for Chelsea, who won't have to get out of walking pace.
-
Sad that that seems such a fantastic proposition doesn't it?

Faye will make us a bit better, simply because he is so strong on the ball and isn't afraid to lose it and so he doesn't rush into the first available long ball. It won't be perfect but it will be better than it has been recently. Whether he's afraid of it or not, he'll still lose it constantly. Chelsea press very well when they don't have the ball, so to have success against them you need to have either players in midfield who are good at quick, one-touch passing football. We don't. Alternatively you need a target man who you can play direct balls to and have him link the play with players coming from deep. We have Martins up front on his own... I'd have played Smith up front personally, hope we do. Maybe Martins on the right, Duff on the left and Milner in midfield looking to get forward while Butt and Faye hold.

You're almost certainly right. Faye-Butt-Smith as a three man midfield.

Barton that is, not Alex's Dad.

Smith's our best player and was our sole shining light at Wigan, so he has to keep his place obviously.
-
Resigned myself to Zoggy at LB tbh, so if it's the 4-4-2 without Smith I'm pretty happy.
-
Is it so much to ask that Zoggy won't be at left-back?
-
I've made an 11th hour swoop, God knows what I'll do with him if I manage to sign him mind.
