Yeah if you google image search, a lot of the pictures of players appear to have an embroidered ASICS logo, as it looks much stiffer than the foam logo.

I suppose it isn’t impossible that over the two years they were sold they could have changed production. Or sold different versions in different places. But seems more likely it’s a snide if recentlyish bought.

And for an alternative opinion Absolutely insane to me that anyone would give up on the opportunity to compete in the CL for anything. It's literally the #1 club competition in the world, we haven't been in it for 20 years, and we have no idea when we'll be in it again. Competing in a lesser tournament, that we'll likely be in many times in the next X years, would not be nearly as enjoyable.
