In general though, this was a rare opportunity to take the kid to something football related, and a rare opportunity for football fans in Philly/the US to go to an event that actually catered for them. I think people in the UK maybe don't get how isolating it can be when nee fucker gives a shit about the sport/team you're obsessed with. Just a shame they fucked it up so badly... It would've been fine if they released like.. half as many tickets. Still, they had a big wall of sequins and free shirt printing with nee wait! Profit.

Went to the fanfest in Philadelphia yesterday. Probably top 10 worst experiences in my life. Dragged my 3 year old to this "family event"... 3 hours in line to get in. Got in with 20 minutes of the match left, having arrived an hour and a half before kickoff. And then everything inside was a massive wait too.

The point isn't remotely moot. He was ousted from his starting position and clearly wasn't Eddie Howe's preference in goalkeeper. This specific man didn't want to be on our bench, and decided he'd rather try his hand at Man Utd. He's 33, he has played for us for 4 years, and he has never caused any controversy. Why would we not consider his wishes? Clearly Howe didn't rate him all that highly in the first place, so if he wanted to go, why hold him back? Take some cash, reduce the wage bill. It's not like we didn't have another passable reserve keeper in Darlow. Obviously he's injured right now, but wasn't exactly difficult to replace. We got some fella off the couch who is absolutely fine for reserve keeper.

The real shirt was a gift. My bread and butter is dodgy fakes from DHGate. Most of the kits I have from recent years are DHGaters, given I'd rather that than fund Mike. But my point is that these specific fakeries are just not great. Really the away kit moreso than the home, and not because the materials are so much lesser or anything like that, it just isn't very true to the original design. The patches are different sizes, the colours are different, the collar shape/size/material are all different. Going mental and trying a hotwash to sack off the Fun88. That'll make it a bit more palatable. Edit: well the lovely shiny pvc material of the away kit is bonded to the Fun88 with epoxy or some shit, but the more breathable material of the home kit meant it came off there easy as pie. Pleased.

I think statistically he wins a good amount of the balls sent his way. But it's irrelevant because he just heads them to the other team. He doesn't ever hold the ball up, he just loses it. I hope to god Howe stops subbing him on with the concept that he'll help see out games. It is clearly ineffective. We are better with no striker and 3 of our attacking mids/wingers.

Don't disagree with any of this, but I think this one just comes down to respecting what Dubs wants to do. Not sure whether it's a good decision or not, and it really doesn't feel great, but this is what Man City do, so maybe we're a big dog after all. Well, plus Howe has clearly always wanted to replace Dubs. Since the moment he arrived we started hearing about potential keeper signings. So I guess Howe really just doesn't rate Dubs that highly for whatever reason.
