Modern game requires athletes! Most successful teams are playing counter attacking football nowadays(except in Italy...and Barcelona) and it's all about the pace! Jonas fits into that system great but his inability to deliver the final ball lets us down. Looking at our style it's pretty much obvious when Nolan, Smith, Butt, Ameobi, Carroll or anyone else lacking pace gets the ball it's pretty much sure nothing's going to happen unlike with Gutierrez. Solid defence with a few pacy players playing counter attacking style is the way to go IMO...at least it's way more interesting(entertaining to watch) than our current walking around the picth

Haven't seen many games so fra this season but how on earth Ameobi has scored so many goals? He's so lazy and haven't changed a bit from the last few seasons of the typical shower of shit performances...is it only because of the level we're currently playing at

Niemi was brought back just for a backup in the first place with coaching purposes I think. He's been coaching youth national team(keepers I guess) in Finland after he retired. No doubt he would still be able to do the job if required but he hasn't played competitive football for 3 or 4 years or so...

Jonas will definitely start scoring loads of goals for the next club when he leaves!

Hughton has got rid of Bassong, Beye, Martins and Duff so far...and most certainly they did not get us relegated At least Shearer tried to change something with his subs when the things wasn't going too well and most of the time he got them correct while Hughton shouldn't be even allowed to do subs as it only gets worse! It's all about the quality IMO...the gap between the leagues is just huge!

Yep it seems to be too simple but somehow the management haven't realised it...we've been crying for a creative midfielder for ages already and haven't even been linked to one yet! Looks like Hughton is totally satisfied what he's got available at the moment(Butt,Nolan, Smith). Guthrie cannot really be counted as CM as he never plays at that position while Barton is always out injured. Apart from Vuckic/Donaldson I don't think we've got too much cover from the reserves/youth teams either...What do you think about Cole Skuse of Bristol C or Jonjo Shelvey from The Addicks? Marc Wilson from Pompey...I wouldn't mind about trying to find someone with a lesser reputation abroad but our so much hyped scouting netword isn't really operational? Or does it even exist?

At the time we had Given, Harper, Krul, Forster and Söderberg already and (as I remember none of them were out on loan or injured) so how was it possible to sign an emergency loan keeper? Sorry...Forster was away at Stockport apparently

Foreign players, in particular South Americans are not brought up/trained in the way British wingers were. Their game is more about dribbling, keeping the ball on the deck, quick passing, playing though balls on the deck.....not the old British way of sticking to the sides, running to the byline and then high crosses to the big centre forward. Yeah, this is pretty much what I mean, I was meant to put 'traditional British winger'. And that's why he should be played more as an attacking central midfielder IMO! He will never learn to cross the ball but he's very much capable of keeping it on the deck and open up defences by passing it through the middle... Not much point keeping the ball and play wide when you can't deliver it in front of the goal when needed
