  1. It was never about letting in too many goals, not for me anyway, it was about the game being in the balance then the defence commiting insane acts of stupidity leading to vital goals being lost. Not numerous goals being lost. The defence's mistakes, however, are highlighted due to the fact we can't fucking score. So it's a bit of both, to be honest.
  2. if you were going to get rid of milner under roeder we could sell Duff, because duff has been far worse than milner. True enough. Anyone could be candidates for a sale under him, he's making some of our better players look distinctly average. Much like a previous manager did...
  3. Sell if Roeder stays, keep if we get a new manager in.
  4. Ah well, at least we haven't lost. Which we should have, considering their goals was fine, in my opinion. Unlucky not to grab a winner at the end, but my gripe isn't the score, but another pitiful performance. Just another sure sign of the direction we're headed. blueyes.gif First-half diagnosis? Second-half diagnosis? Full-time diagnosis? Star man for United? Worst United player? Opposition comment? Toon-pros? Toon-cons? Post-match feelings?
  5. I'd agree with that, to be fair. But most games can be watched these days.
  6. as have I... and I'm pretty sure 90 mins would be a bit of a better base than 3 minutes tbh. My comparison wasn't with highlights, which you know fine well. If someone watches the game in full on TV, then they're in just as good a position to pass judgement. The only problem with TV is that people's opinions are often formed by the commentators rather than themselves.
  7. I was in Glasgow counting my pennies. But I've been down this season, and there's no way me being there made my opinion any more valid than someone who might've seen it on TV.
  8. Including yourself. Going to a match does not give your opinion more weight. There's a lot of clueless people that go to football matches. It's your knowledge of the game that's the most important, and at times being at the game can help. But then, seeing countless replays of something on the TV can also be advantageous at times. But to the question as it is put, no, it does not. It's the person spouting the opinion that matters.
  9. Good question, for me anyway. It's been Shearer for so long, I've never really bothered with another "favourite" player. Used to love Duff, then he signed for us and hasn't done much. But I love Given, for the sheer fact he's been idiotic enough to stay with us all this time.
  10. A trophy would be a short fix, and relegation would fuck us up long-term most likely. No brainer for me, survival ahead of a trophy, even the UEFA cup.

Oh great, it's not even on up here.
  12. Fucking. Laughable. Bit of luck though, so we're though. First-half diagnosis? Second-half diagnosis? Full-time diagnosis? Star man for United? Worst United player? Opposition comment? Toon-pros? Toon-cons? Post-match feelings?

    no subs again

It is becoming quite hard to care. Well, that is care about the minute details. Let's just get the fucker out.

    no subs again

Ah well, my assumption to give him the benefit of the doubt proves wrong. The guy's fucking stupid. I don't know how anyone, even his most ardent supporters, can still support the clueless tit.

    no subs again

His refusal to make a change is quite staggering. Although, as it got closer to the end, I seen the sense in not making the sub until ET. That is assuming that he's going to do that...
  16. You'll be lucky to get some advice like.
  17. Get in a manager, before January, that can get the best out of our players. Whilst I don't think the squad is all that great, it's not joint bottom of the league material. So that would lead me to only want to go for option A under a new manager, but option B if we still have Roeder. I don't think he should be given any more money, as he's proving all ready he can't get his own signings to work, Duff, Martins... never mind the rest. I also don't think the team is that bad that it needs yet another splash of cash. It seems to be some people's answer to everything, and it's not surprising people like Hansen have the views they do. Roeder is going to fuck us over, cash or no cash. He's just not got the talent to manage a football team.
  18. Would rather Houllier and Keegan tbh Well, that's fair enough, but that doesn't make Sven a shite manager.
  19. Whilst I agree he is overrated, the way you're running him down is way over the top also. He's not that bad a manager, nothing he's done suggests that. He would establish us in the top half, and build from there. I'm under no illusions, I don't think he's an O'Neill, or on par with Rafa, Wenger and co, but his reputation in Europe and undoubted knowledge of the English game would give us a boost we've not had since Robson arrived.
  20. Mate, I know what you're getting at, but that's completely different from every fan preferring us to go out and win 4-3. I certainly agree, there are a portion of our fans that expect far too much, like the folk that genuinely believed we'd get 6+ this year, it was just a completely unrealistic aim. Largely because the end of last season was so fortunately lucky.
  21. 17th with no cup. A trophy means a lot, but not that much.
