  1. That thread's a f****** embarassment for everyone taking part on both sides. That's what I though, I started reading and just closed it down, one set of idiots V another set of idiots, it looked evenly matched.

If he fails here that will be where he ends up anyway, as this is his big club chance.

Nowt wrong with what you said anyway. Edit, shit stirring bastard.
  4. I'd sell Duff in January if anybody was daft enough to give us our money back.
  5. I don't usually do this fantasy football shite but here goes. I'd sell Carr and Babayaro and try to get £1 million to bring my kitty to £16 million, I'd try to bring in Hyppia for £2 million and Lahm for £14 million, if not then I'd probably try and get Gallas who was moaning about Arsenal earlier in the month just after they lost Henry, try £6 million which is about right for a class 30 year old, leaving £10 million for a left back, try a bid for Bridge.

Being worse off defensively than last year is debatable, Bramble will not grace/disgrace our defence this season, Moore has gone but hardly kicked a ball and we didn't have Gooch this time last year. On the other hand we've brought in a replacement for Bramble although we don't know how well he'll fit in but the signs look good so far. On top of that we're not relying on Carr on the right as Nobby has proven since this time last year that he can do a job on the right side of our defence and we have Geremi who can also play in that position. We've also got the kids who have more experience than this time last year and we have a manager who will probably see that Edgar will make a much better left back than Huntington. I would say we are on a par with this time last year with our defence, at worst.

Funds must have been given to Allardyce or he wouldn't even be talking to players, it looks like things are stalling at the stage where wages are concerned and I have no idea why that is, maybe we've now got a wage structure or agents are seeing TV money and are going way OTT when trying to negotiate contracts. None of us know.

If one newspaper comes out with a quote from an unknown club source they all jump on it and use the same source, I'd take any of that with a huge pinch of salt. As for the getting into the papers for all of the wrong reasons, you can't pin that one on Ashley or Mort. We do need to see players coming in but I'd rather not see another Boumsong, Owen or Luque farce.

I understand that the question is still probably bouncing around in the void between your lugs

To be fair to Chez, he was reacting to being told he usually wrote shite about football.

A benitez quote from earlier in the year: "They have to reform or die, to spend or fail."

I know Benitez was moaning about a lack of money or something like that.

you obviously preferred the decades where we sold our best players, played in the 2nd division, and - eeerrrrr - almost went bankrupt as a result. Still, every club in football is in the black except us aren't they mackems.gif Jesus wept, you must even copy and paste the smiley these days.

Thanks for that list, how many followed Souness and how many had failed as often as Roeder?

That is a nightmare, it doesn't reduce our problems.

Here's a comment by Luke Young after doing an interview with Chris Mort: Newcastle United’s debt is larger than many people first thought and one of the first tasks for Mort is tackling that issue. Had they not taken control, I dread to think what direction Newcastle were heading in financially after years of brave, but ultimately foolish spending.

That doesn't make any difference, we still didn't have the money and would have still needed to increase our debt.

The debt for the re-development might be manageable but it's less than half of the £80 million we were supposed to have been carrying, we don't know if Ashley was even aware of the debt, I am guessing that they may have been a bit surprised having seen a comment about it from Mort although I can't remember an exact quote.

    Good chairman don't appoint Roeders.
