    untapped revenue?

Most, if not all of the Brewery site has gone, I think it went for £40 million in total and the amount of land is far more than they'll get through buying the club.
  2. Did Whitehurst break Paul Bracewells leg? I seem to remember him almost snapping someone in half with a crunching tackle at St James'.
  3. Solano hasn't had many games this season because of injury, I think we always play better with him then without, I still think he's got a lot to offer when fully fit as he's out cleverest footballer.
  4. If they are not all behind him then it's not 100%. bluebiggrin.gif
  5. Solano is the only one worth keeping as he can still do a job, the rest are one of the reasons were struggling, poor players make a poor team.
  6. I don't agree that Roeder should get the rest of this season if we have new owners and we're out of trouble, if Shepherd goes and we have a good structure in place then I'd ditch Roeder and bring in somebody to take the club forward. Roeder has been shocking since getting the job full time, from transfer window to now, he's done very little right and doesn't give me anything to hold onto and tell me he can do better. Keeping Roeder will be an admission that mediocrity is good enough, I can't see that happening, I can't see a new owner investing in the club then settling for a poor season. This season looks like it's over apart from cups which I can't see us winning, we might as well write it off with at least hope of an improvement next season, that'll not happen with Roeder. I wouldn't replace Roeder for the sake of it but if we have new owners who want rid of him then waiting is pointless if they can get the person they want and trust now. I can't see any point in having yet another transitional season next year. Get somebody in who will have time to evaluate exactly what he's got to work with, not just players but everyone who has any input into team performance. If new owners come in without any plan then keeping Roeder is the best option, that’s the only way I can see him remaining in the job.

    Oliver Speaks

What Oliver admits, unbeknownst to him, is that to him we're not a club that's really trying to compete at their level. More important to have 'Feel For The Club' than real professionalism, so that when we fail, at least we know the manager's hurting too. That's aiming high, eh. I'd love to know what he thinks is so special and unique about NUFC that it's just not for 'foreigners' to manage. (And Gullit was foreign and that went wrong, so 2+2=5 and all that.) This is the level of logic we're dealing with here. If the failure of Gullit means we never have another foreigner then a jock should never be allowed in the dug-out in any capacity. bluebiggrin.gif
  8. Roeder will not be here if they buy the club, who they bring in will depend on who they use as an advisor on the running of the football side of things, I wouldn't be surprised if they appoint somebody with footballing knowledge higher placed than team manager, Keegan wouldn't be out of the question as a director to deliver a strategy to revive the fortunes on the field.
  9. Why? I respect any manager that can stay in a job for 15 odd years... Without mentioning how badly Charlton have done without him. Staying in a job for 15 years is no reason for him becoming manager of Newcastle. The fact that Charlton are doing badly without him is a bit like saying Newcastle are doing badly without Souness, would you want him back? Dario Gradi has been at Crewe for centuries but I wouldn't want him at Newcastle. Getting the wrong replacement is the problem for both teams, not the managers who have left the two clubs. Curbishley would be safe but nothing spectacular, it all depends on where you want the club to go.
  10. Curbishley is being mentioned as a possible new manager, I hope these reports are wrong.
  11. I'm sure they'll know all about the campaign for Hitzfeld, if they don't then they only need visit http://www.hitzfeldforthetoon.com to find out. Bit of a coincidence that Fat Fred, on hearing about the campaign, laughed it off and claimed it was a secretive betting ring scam, and now the banner of the webby says: "HITZFELDFORTHETOON.COM When a thing is funny, search it carefully for a hidden truth." Someone sold out! I think you'll find that sites which are not re-registered get picked up because they still attract hits, or should it be Hitz? I'm sure Freddy would use it to his advantage though if he knew what it was used for now, at least I couldn't find any mention of brothels. bluebiggrin.gif
  12. How could people be glad his son died? Talk about over reaction, maybe it would be fitting if somebody close to these pricks suffered the same fate.

    Oliver Speaks

Let's hope one possible by-product of Belgravia taking over is to kick the Chronicle into touch.
  15. Typical of Shepherd, trying to drag things out to get the price up, all good for the club if more money goes to his pension fund, supporter my arse.
  16. A bit more information, nothing new other than saying who sold the shares last week and how they made a quick profit on some shares bought the day before. Newcastle United PLC 16 November 2006 Newcastle United PLC (the "Company") 16 November 2006 Rule 8.3 - Newcastle United PLC On 7 November 2006, Fiske plc acquired on behalf of Carule Limited, the funds of which are managed on a discretionary basis by Richard Hubbard, 100,000 shares in the Company at a price of 68.25p. This took its total holding to 1,375,000, representing 1.033% of the shares in issue. On 8 November 2006, Fiske plc on behalf of Carule Limited sold 1,375,000 Newcastle United PLC shares at a price of 73p. Ends
  17. Oliver seems to be trying to look a fool; nobody could do that much damage to his credibility by accident, not even a certain poster on here.

    If Martin o Neill

I'm not sure that I agree that the Newcastle job is harder than any other job, how many clubs generate the cash that comes with 52,000 people turning up for league games. Newcastle are just as capable of winning something as most other clubs, at least we would be if we were run more professionally. The club should be easier to manage than many of the clubs above us in the league, smaller clubs with less income. Saying the job is harder is just an excuse for failure.
  20. Knocking the ground down will not happen and I don't care what is happening in Wales. Newcastle City Council would not allow the club to move to cheaper land as the city would lose revenue which match day brings. The Tyne Brewery site which is next to the ground was sold for £40 million so why would any company now buy the club for the land? If any company worked like this they’d go out of business.
  21. ****ing hypocrite. Double standards.
