He's injured after breaking 2 bones in his back while playing for us, is that not enough commitment from him? We don't know what the personal problems are that he or his family have yet he's not being given much, if any benefit of doubt by some. Coloccini has been a perfect pro since joining us before something cropped up and that seems to have been forgotten by some people.

Our former club captain put his career at risk on a Jet Ski while recuperating from injury and I don't remember people complaining about it. Our current club captain goes home while recuperating from injury and he's the new anti-Christ. I can't wait to hear the uproar when our future captain goes home if injured because nobody will have double standards, will they?
-
Why would he have mental scars? It was a shit tackle, probably one of the worst I've seen but he'd have to be fairly weak if it leaves him with mental scars. I have little doubt that he'll remember it but it shouldn't be any worse than that because of the lack of long term damage like a broken bone or damaged ligaments.

He's been accused of playing away from home with some lass from Cramlington, without any proof. He's been accused of faking two broken bones in his back and he's been accused of only being here because he's got no choice. I can't remember anybody calling him an idiot directly but he's been accused of plenty without any foundation. As far as him going to Argentina is concerned, Ben Arfa has been all over the globe while injured and I'm fairly sure that our current captain to be was back in France when he had his original groin injury. I'm sure he'll do the same again and I couldn't care less where an injured player goes when he's not capable of playing for us. I would actually prefer a player to go where he'd prefer to be as it can only assist in his recovery if he's feeling more positive. Shearer when captain had a major operation in America to save his career and was photographed on holiday on a jet ski while his leg was in some form of medical brace.

As if they have to worry about FFP.
-
So he does have a choice.

He's even been accused of faking broken bones in his back.

I said Coloccini had honoured his contract so far, if that changes then I will comment on that at the time. If he does leave then I expect that it will be with the clubs agreement or not at all. As for Coloccini going back home to recover from an injury, so what, he's not our only player to do that and it doesn't bother me in the slightest when any player does it.
-
Aye, right.
-
Coloccini hasn't done anything wrong, has he? So far he's honoured his contract even though it appears that he wants to go home.

It's a bit like the response I'd expect from battered wives.

Personally, I would rather Newcastle won a corner than England win the World Cup.

The people who are making the cuts and saying they haven't got enough money are the same people pissing £60 million down the drain, not me.
-
Leeds might lose it's Childrens Heart Transplant unit, they could have carried out something like 120 life saving operaions with the money these clows are pissing down the drain.
-
The initial costs were crazy and I'm not trying to justify that, it has nothing to do with the tories cutting benefits while splashing out £60 million on this shite.
-
That is disgusting, people are losing benefits and the tories are going to spend £60 million on a white elephant.

They might keep him on in a coaching capacity, wouldn't be surprised seeing as that's probably been happening for some time anyway. Hope so. Remember getting his autograph at the training ground probably 17 years along with Pedro, Howey, Bracewell et all f***ing unbelievable he's still here. Fair play to the lad. It's been said over and over, but he could have forged a pretty good Prem career elsewhere. There were times when you could argue there was little difference between Harper and Given. If he'd been number 1 at a club for 10 years poor lad may have played for England. Feel like we've cheated him a little. Bloody appreciate his loyalty though. Cheers Steve Don't get me wrong I think he's been a great servant for the club, but how can we know this given how little he actually played? It's one of those kind of folklore myths that he was as good a Shay and because it can't be disproved everyone seems to have gone along with it. Given was one of the best in the league for a fair period - it's difficult to conclude that someone who has barely played 200 games in nearly 20 years was on a comparable level. He was as good as Given, it's no myth.

When you do get your tickets look at a few hotels and post them on here and I'm sure people will help you decide but it will be important to tell people what you're looking for. Do you want something cheap, in town, quiet or busy? Do you want to be able to walk into town and to the ground or do you want something away from town? We have the Metro so you can stay miles away and still get into town easily and quickly. It's a pity that our ground isn't bigger, if it was you could have taken in our league game on the Sunday and you would have been able to experience two totally different atmospheres. The atmosphere should be friendly against you lot as we are reasonably welcoming to away supporters who aren’t arse holes. On the Sunday it will be pure unashamed hatred and that will be the case for most of the day, if not the whole weekend.

Unlucky, I had a spare and sold it at face value even though I was offered three times that by somebody who was moaning that he hadn't seen a game all season.
-
It's 2013, not 1913. Players can wear specialist clothing under the normal kit so they don't have to get cold. Also, Santon was injured while training in Italy where the temperature is warmer than here.
-
I still can't work out the logic of the decision that the FA have made. They have basically bottled it and almost everybody commenting on it feels the same way.
-
It might be a bit interesting if Matthew Wilkes gets a game at St James' in the near future.
-
Christ, the only outcome I didn't expect was no action being taken. The FA are a pack of corrupt bastards, I can only guess that they are still pissed off that the club stung them over the Owen injury.
