  1. We rarely hear anything from Rafa away from pre and post match press conferences, he just quietly gets on with his job because he's good enough to do that. Our managers in the recent past have been shite and have had to try and compensate for that by telling everybody about how good they were or how good a job they were doing. A good manager doesn't have to do that, he praises the players and doesn't want to steal the limelight.

They're cracking and we'll stay up as long as we don't get complacent, which I don't think will happen.
  3. I think there's a better chance that he will still be our manager.
  4. I'm quite happy for Man U to win today to give them something to play for against Norwich. Leicester can win the league against Everton at home next week to finish the season for Spurs.

Defoe sounded like he was also under pressure after the Stoke game. I think the 3 clubs are all under pressure and the one that handles the pressure the best will be the one that stays up. You could see that we were feeling the pressure yesterday and that was part of the reason why the game was as close as it was. I think we're handling it well and Rafa is making a massive difference with that. The players will look at Rafa and see a winner and they clearly believe what he's telling them and that's a massive boost which the other two don't have. They're hearing the same thing which got them into this position in the first place, our players are not. Our players are being told something which has seen us go from almost certain losers to a team that doesn't accept defeat and wants to win.

The Darlow penalty save was more important and worth two points, Defoe only gained one point.
  7. It's far too early to say what will happen next season, if it's competitive then he'll struggle, I have no doubt about that.
  8. He could easily take them down next season.
  9. I was over the moon at how irrelevant he was to us yesterday.

    Chancel Mbemba

I have my doubts about that.
  11. Football is everywhere in Newcastle and that's has been seen by some lesser managers as a problem, Rafa seems to love that in the same was as Bobby and Keegan did. People who love football should love to be at our club as its a massive part of the area and it's everywhere, unlike most other clubs where it's only important on a match day.
  12. He already has a bond here and that will play a big part in him staying, that and us being a "sleeping giant" will give him the idea that he can do something special here. It will be a massive risk for him to leave here, look at his Chelsea experience. Being comfortable in your work is as important as anything else and the welcome he has been given here will be massive to him.

I'm not unsure whether we have what it takes to beat Villa, I'm confident that we can beat them. I'm not 100% confident that we will beat them but we can do it as long as we go out and play like our lives depend on it.

Man U probably have to win all of their games if they want to have a chance of playing in the CL next season.
  15. It could just be an extension of him getting the kids out of the training ground, they may have been going regardless so he's getting rid of distractions. I do think he'll stay anyway, I just don't see this as a sign of it.
  16. Did you see Norwich and Southampton or is the revival limited to the last 3 games...........and we were as bad as I've seen us this season till Liverpool started to cruise. Look at how many save Darlow had to make with easy open shots from 20yds or so. We are better organised from dead balls but don't seem to be overall. why is our revival limited to 3 games when we're unbeaten in 4? Thats not helping as we were cack against Swansea for the most part. Don't get me wrong, we are at a part of the season and being where we are where results are more important than performances but I just don't see so far that Rafa, as much as I rate him, has made us more organised etc. Here man, what the f***? Are you smoking crack? Seriously. Us not looking more organised is up there with hundreds of billions, you absolutely f***ing looney. Based on what we've been playing ? V man city, yes, as good as I've seen us this season. A s*** Norwich team scored 3, Southampton had 3 could have had more, Liverpool 2 and could have had more, Palace and the Mackems were even games where the oppo arguabely had the better chances. You're either taking the piss or are pissed.

  18. It does, everybody has had a lift and it's been years since we've had a manager who has galvanised everybody. I don't think I've heard a single Newcastle supporter have anything negative to say about him.
  19. It's brilliant having a quality manager again, he's worth his weight in gold.
  20. Rafa is a great motivator, I think that could be down to his CV as much as anything. The players are clearly playing for the manager in a way that we haven't seen since we finished 5th. Still not playing well though, Still look disorganised, can't really say we desrved the win today. I know Rafa is a good manager and the players look more bothered but they still look like strangers on the pitch. I thought that we did deserve the win.

    Andros Townsend

I'm not sure you had enough time to think all of that.

    Paul Dummett

He did really well to chase down the ball after Darlow had saved the penalty.
