I've said it before, I'd go for Shola and Lovenkrands because I think Shola will be up for this game and I think Lovenkrands will handle the pressure brought on by the probable atmosphere which he's experienced at Rangers. It might not work out that way but it should do.

I'm saying that we should play Shola.

I'm not sure what we're arguing here as I know the midfield contributes to the defence.

The stats don't back up Smith being better than Guthrie. Smith played against Villa when we beat them 6-0 and he did less in that game than Guthrie did in what is probably his worst game, against Bolton.

I'd forgotten about him giving it to Fabregas towards the end.

If Gosling was fit I would agree, it's not worth risking him with a start unless we go 4-5-1 with him for 20 or so minutes then go 4-4-2.
