    Saviola on loan?

Some people are saying that we need a big target man, why? You don't need a big target man to score goals and win games, we didn't have one when we had Beardsley and Cole and they didn't do too badly together. Man U won the league last season without one as they carved teams open and scored plenty.
  2. I was over the moon when we sold Woodgate because of the limited number of games he'd play and I thought that if we had spent the money on somebody who wasn't quite as good but played more games then we were onto a winner. If we had replaced Woodgate back then with a player like Coloccini then I would have been over the moon. I'm confident that over a full season we'll get more out of Coloccini than we would have gotten from Woodgate. Woodgate is class but he can do nothing while sitting in the stands.
  3. That's the one we want, the richest person on the planet and almost as good as 3 Abramovich's.
  4. You don't have to buy them, just go up to Scotland and get the ones they bought when we played Argentina in the WC.
  5. He's only the 40th richest person on the planet, we can do better.
  6. We were slaughtered last season, on Sunday we'll see how much we've improved since then.
  7. I'm gutted that the wrist slashers weren't able to drag this thread to 200 pages before he signed. I'm sure another couple of hours would have put them under a serious bit of pressure to go in to hyperdrive with the negativity.
  8. I think that's just about how I feel if this happens.
  9. How is replacing Faye with Coloccini one step forward and two steps back?
  10. I doubt very much that our first choice central defenders will both have zero experience in the league. Even if the two without the experience play together I can't see it being the case by the time that the do play together. It looks like Taylor will play alongside Coloccini so by the time Bassong gets a game with Coloccini we'll have one with and one without the experience. At least that's the way it should be as Taylor doesn't have a bad injury record other than his shoulder which hasn't been a problem since his operation.
  11. Nobody knows how Faye and Coloccini would have worked together, the people within the club will have a better idea of what they want from our central defenders and how they will fit into the team.
  12. Faye played in the team that lost 1-5 at home to Man U so does that not mean he's shite? The whole team were playing poorly and without confidence for long periods last season because we were being set up to try and contain teams and by doing so invited teams on to us and we couldn't cope as a team. Some people go way over the top about Taylor, some think he's brilliant while others think that he's shite, he's neither of those. Cacapa and Taylor will not be our first choice so I’m not going to worry too much about those two playing too many games together.
  13. You're right about Cacapa being the oldest , I don't agree that Faye is our best when we've got Coloccini who looks like being his replacement.
  14. Every goal conceded with Taylor and Cacapa in the team was down to them, I missed that last season.
  15. Did somebody ask for an example of fickleness?
  16. If Keegan thinks we have too many central defenders and wants to get rid of a one then getting rid of the oldest (I never said too old) might be his criteria as he's not going to play forever and is unlikely to improve as a player. I can see the sense of keeping players who are older and can develop, Taylor is not as bad as some people make out. Campbell is 33 which has no relevance, Maldini is still playing at 40 but that doesn’t mean all defenders play to that age.
  17. I'm not bothered about this in the slightest, we've got enough cover in this position and are possibly getting rid of the oldest central defender. I trust Keegan to do what is best for the club and he'll know what he's doing and why he's doing it. As far as I’m concerned the biggest loser out of this transfer if it happens is the player, it just doesn’t make any sense from what I can see. Stoke is a footballing backwater and doesn’t offer much as a place to live. If this is the reaction to Faye possibly leaving then I'd love to have seen a forum at the time we sold Sir Les.
  18. He's probably got it as his ringtone on his phone.
  19. Who the former owner was shouldn't stop him from moving, who is to be compensated should not hold the players registration up.
