So we can pick him up for a free at the end of the season then?

2.1 million pounds Daylight robbery on the scale of the Andy Carroll Sale.

The reality is he could easily have missed. It wasn't a particularly powerful shot, it was straight at the keeper, but fortunately it went through his legs. I still don't think his form is particularly good. I don't think we should rigidly adhere to the mentality that it's all about the rest of the team creating chances for Cisse. We shouldn't be afraid to try other options ie Gouffran. Cronky what happened man The "reality" that he could have easily missed can be counter-argued by the "reality" that he could have scored from previous situations which he did miss. If you know anything about football, and I'm certain that you do, you'll understand what the goal meant for his confidence last night. Make no mistake, it was an emphatic finish. Sure we can call it luck all we want but if you don't have the talent luck doesn't just fall your way. Yes Cisse kicked it straight at the keeper and yes it went through his legs but I believe the goal was instinctive. It's not just a matter of shooting at the keeper and hoping it goes through his legs. It was how he kept the shot low, it was how he timed the shot early so that the keeper wasn't prepared and so couldn't adjust his body when he realised the ball was coming as he was planning to fling himself across goal. All these small things add up and yes there was certainly an element of luck, but the degree of luck and the degree of skill that goal required can be easily mistaken. I remember Shearer's 200th or 201st goal against Portsmouth went through the keepers legs. No way can you say that was luck, the goal was instinctive and no one doubted he would score once he got into that position.

Bet $30 (Australian) on us against villa. Made a good $50 profit.

Absolutely fantastic by Cisse. Love this guy.

The argument is bull. I mean look at Tiote http://e0.365dm.com/11/02/660x350/tiote_2559156.jpg Don't see a lack of passion there.

Playing with 10 men eh?! Getting cocky now Forgot to add Perch.

This. For me Hatem staying with us is absolutely crucial. It's not just about the money, even if another club offers us silly money (like Carroll) I'd like Hatem to stay. Carroll could easily be replaced with his transfer fee but how would we convince a player of hatem's quality to join us? It'll be a number of years, at least 1-2 if we do well before we can regularly attract a player of his talent. How strongly we hold onto Hatem will speak volumes about the board's ambition for this club.

I really hope it's not Liverpool. It'll be absolutely shite seeing Hatem in a Liverpool shirt.

Sell him. If they play Simpson then they're guaranteed relegation and that's one less relegation spot for us to worry about.

Hmm I dunno. Yeah we're making a shitload of signings but if you look at it another way we haven't spent that much if you consider the 7 mil we got from Demba. These signings really should have happened at the start of the season, they're only happening now because it looks like we're gonna get relegated without them. Wouldn't most managers want a bit more ambition shown by the board rather than making emergency signings (albeit very good ones) 6 months too late? You only have to look at our squad now (especially if the Sissoko signing comes off) to see how attractive a proposition we are to a decent manager. The fact that they wouldn't have total control over transfers would almost certainly be offset by the fact that the players the board do sign are fucking brilliant. Mmm certainly if you look at our starting line-up when everyone is fit it is absolutely drool-worthy and in the hands of a decent manager with a good system it will be a very attractive proposition. You still can't ignore though the fact that for too long Danny Simpson was the only right-back we had and the fact that we've only had three recognised centre-backs, one of which is of Championship standard. But yeah they have replaced them fucken brilliantly. That's why I still have faith in the club though I'm still not sure if the calibre of manager that we desire would be lining up to manage us.

We are a springboard club tbh. If you excel at Newcastle, you'll probably want to join a club that is accustomed to winning things and spending loads more on wages. It's true of Arsenal too. You're right, these days you simply can't avoid it. However it is still important to sign the right type of players, losing Fabregas to Barcelona is different from losing Enrique and Carroll to fucken Liverpool.

Indeed it isn't Feel bad for them. Looks like they're going through similar times to us. Frustrations at the owner, team not performing as well as they should etc... Shame, good club, fans who aren't c***s, hope they stay up though karma should see them go down for what they made of our relegation. Have you completely forgotten the last game against Villa when we went down?
-
When home fans boo at the away team's player for diving/acting when he is actually very seriously injured.

the bait was a bit too obvious this time.

Gouffran doesn't look like a left winger to me. For a start he's right footed. Looks more like a straight swap for Demba from what I've seen. We need someone who can play up the middle in case Cisse gets injured. HBA can play left forward if Gouffran needs to play right. what's important is a striker who can play as part of a front 3 I agree, actually I would really like to see HBA play left side, I just think he's probably not keen to as on the right he gets to cut inside and shoot more. But he'd provide absolute quality service from the left if he was prepared to play an unselfish role. Mind you we know Hatem can hit them with his right as well so it wouldn't be a problem. It's just that the few times he has played on the left he wasn't as prominent. From previous interviews it looks like he likes the number 10 role and the right wing cutting in to shoot with the left is about as close as he's going to get to that position in this team.

His club play a bit of hoof ball in to the box and he has a canny knack of finding space in the box and scoring with his head. Can play it on the deck too. Yeah doesn't look like his natural position. I think he's played on the right before though. I was hoping that he would improve our starting 11 though with Ben Arfa on the right so it would be interesting to see if he can play on the left.

10 seconds in and he already shows something none of our midfielders can do It's weird seeing someone as massive as him moving with so much agility.....Almost surreal.
