  1. Should've went for him after the end of 2012/13. IMO. Someone capable for 2004/5 instead of Souness surely, when all the rot started for the very first time.
  2. Must be shit alot of the time because some of those goals are outrageous. I really really really hope he's good. He looks so fast on youtube it almost looks silly.
  3. The cunts on holmesdale are claiming Pardew had a 43% win-rate in charge of newcastle.
  4. My thinking as well. Give him some time, when Krul first broke into the first team he was a nervous wreck, always charging at the ball, though he showed exceptional shot stopping abilities. Keepers need time to settle in.
  5. 100% We need a functional, organised team structure, with a healthy, competitive and hungry mentality. A core of the better championship level players, with just one or two marquee signings when we come back up will make us competitive right away on our return.
  6. Get in the fucking bin. This gif reminds me of Kasper's animated work. A ridiculous dancing scene with Pardew's face on it, only that...this is real. It actually happened in real life.
  7. Cisse needs to come off, he waste chances, he doesn't close down, he breaks down our play.
  8. Cisse just doesn't attack the ball. It's as if he has no desire to score.
  9. Disagree, think he'll play an important part next season. At the moment the games mean too much and so Rafa is going with two defensive midfielders. Next year when the relegation pressure is off, wouldn't be surprised to see Rafa use him more often as we play more on the front foot.
  10. Most likely a tight victory, either 1-0 or 2-1. I've no doubt they're awful and if we really pushed them we have the ability to score more, but I think this game just means too much and due to nerves and a risk-averse attitude, we'll lock the game down once we're ahead.
  11. We're 2nd bottom and odds on for relegation. To be fair to them if they're not confident of beating us who exactly could they be confident of beating? They shouldn't be confident of beating anybody, they're f***ing horrible. Only reason they're safe is their good start, since the turn of the year they've been the worst side in the league. Agree. Just think some people are getting a little over confident. I got slaughtered on here because I disagreed with everyone who said we would batter sunderland a few weeks ago because we had Rafa in and they were on an awful run as well. We nearly lost that one. Palace are a poor side and we should beat them if we play like we did in the 2nd half at Anfield. I watched their game against Watford and thought they were 2 rotten teams. Pretty disgusting that our record against both this season is played 4 lost 4 scored 3 conceded 10. Pardew will have them fired right up for this without a doubt. Let's just hope he considers this a derby, because we all know his record in those.

    PROMOTIONOMETER

He scored no goals in his last season in the premierleague before going down, and scored less than 10 in his last three seasons (before going down) combined.
  13. How should we survive if he scores 4 goals in the last 8 games? Hopefully he wouldn't be the only one scoring?
  14. Likely formation by McClaren would be 4-4-2, Saivet & Shelvey in the middle, Sissoko and Wijnaldum on the wings cutting in/drifting wide throughout the game.
  15. Would say Shelvey takes more risks than Cabaye on his first showing at least. Cabaye was quite safe. Cabaye took longer because he had to adapt to the league. Shelvey definitely is the Cabaye replacement we've been needing since he left though.
  16. Fucking idiots yelling shoot, we might've scored another if we let him pass by now.
  17. You don't think he's far better than what we have? I've never been his biggest fan (partly because he seems like a right tosser at times). But he at least does have undoubted ability, even if he's inconsistent that still puts him way ahead of anyone we have in central midfield. Not sure how much better, depends on his time of month from what I've seen. He does come across a prima donna tosser and I don't think he'll be any different. He's got the potential to be a right pain in the arse behind the scenes. I think we have to realise that having 11 'nice-guys' on the pitch doesn't get us results. We need to grow up/mature as an organisation and be able to deal with prima donnas/'personalities'. Had we been able to do so, we would've kept Ben Arfa on the pitch and in the club. Shelvey can run forward, make good passes in the final third and give us an occasional long range effort. Three things we don't have in our midfield currently. Dealing a prima donna is a small price to pay for these attributes.
