Have you created your own deadline like? It's absolutely irrelevant when signing players for the next 4 years. They aren't pandering to the whims of a couple of spoilt bairns on a football forum. They are a professional outfit trying to strike multi million pound deals, whilst not having their pants pulled down.

Also "other clubs seem to be managing" line is twaddle. Presumably noone has noticed Man Uniteds inability to sign anyone decent or Chelsea being turned down by a zillion players or Leicester yet to sign anyone etc. By all accounts we want a striker and winger. I'd bet my house we will have both in by September and both will be of significant quality to improve the first team and squad.

I don't think there is anything mystical about ASM and his future. I'm sure Howe sees it clearly too. He understands how good ASM can be, I'm sure he also understands where the squad is at right now and the fact we can't afford to lose our best creative outlet (without a serious replacement). So for the time being ASM is a key part of our squad and Howe will work him to the bone to try and get him doing all the things he wants him to do on the football pitch. Time changes everything though. This season is not only key to ASMs future at NUFC but also his future in football. By this time next year, we will know whether he's the elite player he claims he is or whether he's another decent but flawed winger. My instinct, and it's just my opinion, is that ASM won't like the workload that Howe puts on him and wont like the restraints he has on the pitch. In 12 months time, he will look for a move and won't get the move he wants.

Howe has a great imagination. Mixed friendlies, go carting, presentations from knights, I genuinely wonder what other managers do in this regard.

If you go through your potential 25 man squad, even in your head, it's surprisingly hard to leave players out. Try it.

Manquillo might not make the 25 man squad at this rate, given that he's injured and now 3rd choice that is.

Interesting that Forest have signed two players who were accused of being club leaks at Man Utd. So far, I've seen very little in terms of improvement from the 3 promoted sides. Luckily for them, Everton and Southampton are in massive trouble IMO.

What a turnaround for Krafth. Really likeable and a good deputy for Trippier. I do suspect that we will be looking for a young right back in the next 18 months but I'm happy for Krafth to stay on.

Second guessing who we will sign is virtually impossible. We will sign at least two players though, I'm certain of that.

I really like Leicester. They are are great blueprint on how to do it. They are clearly going through a sticky phase but thar happens to everyone. I suspect Rodgers will be replaced by Brightons manager in the next 18 months.

The only thing I can think, is that they will eventually pay what they have to in order to get the player they want but right now are trying to pull fees down. It makes zero sense to low balling sides, knowing that they won't accept, unless we believe in the long run it will save us money.
