Yeah I've never really doubted that it will happen. Mainly because Ashley made up the guff about there being more than one interested party not so long ago, a sure fire sign that he was trying to start a bidding war and therefore wanted to sell. I've said this a few times but anyone who's bought a house or dealt with solicitors/insurance people/money lenders know how long things can take and this is multi millions so God knows what else is involved. That's all assuming they have a price nearly agreed. On a side note, I can't see anyway in which it's going to be a Man City job but I'd snap your hands off for a Spurs/Everton (recent) type of investment. I just want to dream that one day we might get in the champions league or a cup final again. Not today, not tommorow, just someday.

Aye, hopefully a good business though.

He won't be getting much of a wage rise and long term he will be loaned out. It's about protecting an investment. If he performs somewhere else we can always sell him further down the line.
-
Don't think he will ever be a premiership number one. He's more than capable of being a championship starter. I don't mind seeing him get a new deal and loaned out. There's bound to be a championship club who could use him next season... (not us before anyone bothers).

Ian is right. The transfer window is the real issue.
-
Caulkin literally said two days ago that progress was still being made. Calm the fuck down people.
-
Wonder if we would look at Ulloa as a short term option.
-
The yorkshire accent and everything and I didn't twig. To be fair, we were literally in the middle of nowhere.

Was sitting in a rural pub in Scotland a few year ago with my toon top on. Old fella and his wife sitting near by. Old fella: A'up lad, Newcastle fans are you?" Me: "Aye mate, for better or for worse." Him: "What do you think of Alan Smith?" Me: "He's shite." Him "I'm his grandad." Gutted. Spent the next hour back tracking and talking about his grandsons playing career etc. Was a lovely bloke and didn't take it personally. Bought me a pint actually.

The Sun are almost certainly talking shite mind. Even if it's true, it will be pure guesswork from their part. We all know the score. We get a couple of loans in and that will be that.
-
It's not his money. If we were to sell, then the club's bank balance would transfer to new owners. Can he not just take It, with him being the sole owner?
-
There's one reason why we would sell him; Ashley cashing in on anything he can before he goes. Can't see us selling Shelvey Shelves for anything less than 20m personally.
-
If we can claim two big club scalps, we should be ok. Fancy us to pick up points off someone like Arsenal.
-
Even if we can't win this thing, let's get to the semis and have a trip to Wembley.
-
Groo, what team you likely to field?
-
Shearer is a class pundit.
-
Didn't the journalistic messiah George Caulkin say that Ashley would fund January after his curry with Staveley? Something about taking a repayment further down the line?
-
Rafa is being quiet because he knows there's an embargo due to this takeover. He's not going to kick off because he's hoping Ashley won't be here long.

I said a daft thing last week and I'm 29. I'm certainly not going to give a 16 year old grief. People learn when they get older but even as adults we do and say stupid things.
-
Finger crossed for McClaren.
-
Bugger. Still I'd like to see his smug little face.
-
When and what did Shelvey get booked for? Missed that?
-
It's understandable that the atmosphere is shit when you have families going. The young ones have to be blooded in at some point and that's what cup games are for.
-
Fuck knows what team he will field. I presume Yedlin and Atsu will come straight back in. Darlow Yedlin Lascelles Clark Dummett Shelvey Hayden Murphy Atsu Richie Perez Something like that.
