I do wonder whether someone like Harvey Elliot might be considered. At 40m, Longstaffs 12m quickly eats into that fee and gives us something entirely new. Although I actually think it's much more likely we have someone abroad in mind.

I think the plan is to let him go and pivot out attention to a number 10/Striker hybrid. It gives us cover for Isak but also allows us to play 4231, which means we only need 2 CMs.

It does feel wholesome to send money down the footballing pyramid.

Can't be under estimated how much this will give Isak a timely arm around the shoulder, with a bit of luck it helps him sign a new deal. Im resigned to Isak eventually leaving but if we can get another 2 years before cashing in, that would be ideal. Signing Elanga really cant harm.
