So he's done a poor job or an average job?
-
The hills have eyes.
-
The thing is though, you can praise him as highly as you want and you'll not get stick for it, even if people don't agree with you. You come across as if you have your own and can't accept that others dont share it, I could be wrong but that's the way it looks. TBF that's exactly how you look, except with the opposite view. You seem to hate the idea that Hughton has done a good job this season, despite the fact that he has.

4-1 Villa Heskey

Haynes looks dangerous, is that Danny Haynes formerly of Ipswich? Would be a good player for any Championship side, hope Jose returns for our game against them.
-
Massive goal for our season! Brilliant news.
-
Would be a massive boost if West Brom drop points.
-
It would be alot easier if those who slate Hughton every week, gave him credit when he does things right. Most who post positive comments about Hughton, generally agree that he's never going to be a great manager but would rather support him for the time being. However, those who post negative comments about him rarely ever give the credit he deserves, despite being top of the league.
-
The problem with that argument is that our midfield is still poor and shows no sign of changing next year. That's the key. I reckon Hughton will sign some good players in the summer.
-
Look shaky West Brom. Hope it doesn't open up.
-
I'm hoping that last season was due to ALOT of other things. Stability, management, confidence, adapting, consistent defence etc. I have no doubt that he will be better next year, how much i'm not sure.
-
We should be looking to buy a quality right back in the summer to add to our defence.
-
Nouble is a good signing for West Brom.
-
Coloccini would be abysmal in centre midfield. First choice would be Taylor and Colo but Williamson would get plenty of games anyway.
-
If Cleverley's out that's huge, he makes things tick for them. We will do our usual boring style and try and hurt them late on. If we score early they will be in trouble.
-
Harper Simpson Willamson Coloccini Van Aanholt Guthrie Smith Routledge Nolan Jonas Carroll Perfect opportunity for Hughton to drop Lovenkrands and play 451.
-
That's bollocks, he gets MORE stick because he's a local lad. It's a pointless comparisson anyway because players who are signed by the club often have more pressure to produce due to their price, reputation etc.
-
Oh aye, you always get the old bloke behind you, who is so much more wiser. You just have to exept these people think they no the game because they are old. There was one guy that was giving hell to the wrong player the other week, you just have to bite your lip. TBH most of the sensible comments come from the younger generation. It all comes down to wanting to be a "superfan".
-
Aye there was no lacking Van Aanholts ability on the ball or talent, just looked at times like he lacked direction. I can think of at least three times when he gave the ball away and it almost cost us. However, he's a prospect for sure.

Harper- 7 One good save, some poor kicking Simpson- 7 Better game i thought Coloccini- 8 Class all game Williamson- 7 Solid outing Van Aanholt- 6 looked a touch shaky at times Guthrie- 8 Ran the show for us, kept things ticking despite being on the right, neglected the flank though Smith- 6 Put his foot in but offered little but effort Nolan- 7 Better game, got his goal Jonas- 7 Much better second half, took the game to them Lovenkrands - ? Scored Carroll- 6 Had no service to feed off Best- 6 Worked hard and could have scored but didn't really threaten Pancrate + Taylor- 7 Good cameo's, one touch each.

Showed intelligence by dropping Smith. Apart from some shaky, negative, away form Hughton has impressed me.
-
I think Guthrie could be a really good player but he needs plenty of games, which at last he is starting to get. There will be games where his passing is brilliant and others where it is poor but his overall ability to keep possession, and move it on, is far better than anything else we have. I'm hoping that if he keeps getting the games eventually he will find his scoring touch too, as we know he has a good strike on him. Even though i don't rate Nolan, Guthrie could learn from him when it comes to awareness in the box.

Sam Jacks mate... sam jacks.

Nolan's fitness isn't going to make him capable of passing, he's clearly weak in this area.
