  1. A draw would be a very good result. Given? Solano Taylor Ramage Hunty Butt Parker Milner Emre Dyer Martins With the pace of Martins and Dyer we COULD rape their slow defence but big sam has his teams well organised. Got the chelsea and spurs scores correct. 1-0 Bolton (Anelka)
  2. I would love Carew here and i don't think he would trake alot of adapting either. Would play well up front with Oba.

    Bye bye Bramble?

Ramage, Taylor and Hunty are embarrasing titus bramble right now. It would suprise me Roeder didn't renew his contract because i always thought glenn was a big fan of him. Hopefully we can get som sort of fee for him but him being noy being at the club will save us money in different ways. Would like to see moores renewed though.
  4. Eh?? Typical Northern Monkey post. Instead of "EH" can you not ask a question like "Why is Dyer getting a b-?" which is what i assume you would like to know. Typical Northern Monkey post, i like it. I think i made my confusion over his grade quite clear. If i didn't make it clear enough, i CAN spell it out for you, but i thought even you had the cpaacity to work it out without crying like a smacked bitch. Crying? The will only be one person crying in a minute mate! bluewink.gif Judging your personality and making and assumption about what mean...... I gave "your best mate" a B- because since he has returned (Man City game) we have gone on a very good run, where we have picked up quite a few points and started to climb the table. However, he has not be in the side enough this season to warrent any more than the mark i gave him. Due to your hate of Dyer i don't for a second expect you to agree or understand this but please excuse me for sticking by my opinion.

    Can we beat Spurs?

I wasn't impressed by our Watford performance last week but i feel we are a poorer side against teams that battle like Everton, Bolton, Reading, Sheff U or Watford. Depending on whether Spurs can show some grit against us, will determin which way the game will go. If our top players Like Martins, Dyer and Emre click then Spurs may struggle at SJP. Their main threat is Berbatov by a mile, if we get Taylor on him we could and should win. Apart from Citeh last week Spurs have been poor on the road but are playing pretty well. Promises to be one heluva game. My Toon line up: Given Nobby Taylor Ramage Hunty Butt Parker Dyer Emre Sibierski Martins Prediction: 3-1 Martins, Dyer and Sibers. Malbranque for them

    Team of the Half Season

Before i start i didn't look at other peoples just to be fair. Jaskalienen Eboue Vidic Carvalho Baines Huddlestone Essien Ronaldo Taylor Martins Drogba Subs: Robinson Taylor Kanu Doyle Butt Giggs Saha
  8. A* A A- Martins and Taylor B+Sibierski and Butt B Ramage and Solano B- Emre and Dyer C+ Parker and Huntington C Milner C- Duff, Zoggy,Ameobi and Moore D Baba and Rossi E Carr and Bramble F Luque ROEDER B
  9. Given Nobby Taylor Huntington Ramage Butt Parker Milner Dyer Sibierski Martins Prediction: 0-1 Shevchenko
  10. Liverpool/Arsenal or Spurs/Southend or Wycombe. Are the semis played at neutral grounds in the league? If they are not then i feel we would get knocked out playing Arsenal, Liverpool or Spurs at their grounds. Thats only if we beat Chelsea, which i doubt we will.
  11. Neither experianced nor good. I don't want to see him in our black and white, he's just lanky in my honest opinion.
  12. Fancy us for the UEFA like. The only tricky side is Spurs for me. I always said that the first season without shearer would be the one where we will win something, i'll stick by that.
  13. I'm not sure we would have a choice if someone made an offer of £5.5m - Its a clause in his contract. However I'd hope he would turn down a move considering we've been loyal to him and are not safe from the drop. If the clause stuff is true, then i'd be rather worried but i would have thought a club would have came in last summer had that been the case. For 5.5m he would have been a bargain. He raped us down at the COMS last month. Best player on the park by a country mile.
  14. I don't think Glenns the type to rush players back.

    Klose

He'd be worth 7m plus i think, it would be stupid for our club to risk that sort of money on a 29 year old. It's for that reason why don't think he will end up in the prem either. He's got italy written all over him.
  16. Priorities: 1. LEFT BACK 2. STRIKER (cover) or CENTRE BACK 3. RIGHT BACK I'd be putting alot of effort in getting a left back in then keeping my eye open at other deals going on. If we see a centre back, striker or right back that has became available we should swoop in. Planning is the key word though, plenty of enquiries need to be made.
  17. Barton is a fantastic player, passing, shooting, tackling and leadership. The only thing that troubles me is his temperament but i believe all great players are a little crazy, we would just need to learn how to handle him (plus i think he's calmed down). For 5.5m would be a snip in my eyes however we must stick to our priorities. I doubt citeh would sell to any prem club half way through their season anyway. The summer seems more feezable.

    Lack motivation??

Newcastle are in the same boat, although their backs-to-the-walls stuff is out of necessity rather than stupidity - 7 first-team players are injured, they’ve got a thin squad and they still are close to the relegation scrap. They fought their way through at the Emirates, and it looks like they’ll go throughout the season fighting for scraps - the UEFA Cup seems to bring out a different Newcastle, but we’ll see tonight if they can come away from Frankfurt with points or not. Last season Newcastle stormed to 7th place, but the league is much tougher this year, and they’re not as strong as last year. Top 10 would be a big acheivement for them. With their luck though, Newcastle could beat Chelsea in the Carling Cup quarter final. First he says we have 7 first teamers injured then accuses us of being lucky? Shite journalism.
  19. It embarrasses me that any toon fan would create a thread like this about one of our youngsters after two league starts, one of which against league champions.
  20. The bit in bold is fact, the bit not in bold is opinion. Chelsea may be minted but they don't want to let players go for nothing. It's quite possible that Mourinho told Bridge he will let him go should a club come in for him during the january window. Mine is just speculation, however should Bridge have got a pay rise when he signed it would add substance to my guess.

    Martins vs Johnson

In all honesty i chose martins because of his age. There's very little between the two players. Pace, workrate and finishing.
  22. Riggot or Distin, Bridge or Konchesky.
  23. Martins did everything he could in the game today. Good control, good turn of pace and two very well taken goals, without him and steven taylor we would have lost today. It baffles me that anyone could critise todays performance, he played very well IMO.
  24. Here's my views: Given 7 Did what he had to, was blocked for the goal. Huntington 6 Solid home debut, wasn't beaten very often. Taylor (MOM) 9 Awesome performance again, undroppable. McClaren in the stands. Ramage 7 Taylors sidekick showed good communication and looked pretty comfortable. Babayaro 5 Another shocker from him, at fault for their goal. Milner 6 Would have gave him a 5 if it wasn't for his assist. Disapointing. Butt 7 Putt in a good shift. Dyer 6 Pretty anonamous, apart from a first half shot. Emre 7 Probbed but to little effect, took off injured. Martins 8 Two chances, two goals. Very efficient performance from our most threatening player by far. Sibierski 7 Look a little tired but worked hard all the same. Duff 7 Cameo assist Parker 7 Couple of good tackles Verdict: We were lucky to get anything out of this game but got 3 points after a midweek loss. Injured players are back but we need to produce better if we want to even think about beating spurs next weekend, let alone Chelsea midweek. Taylor was awesome.
