  1. Fantastic result. Didn't see the game so won't cast my views on performance. Would like to hear a little bit more of an accurate view on Goochs performance and what do people think of Martins? 12 goals is bloody good with so many games still to play. I suspect he will get a few in europe when we return. Certainly looking like a good signing. Is 12 more than that off any Liverpool strikers?

    Bring in Scolari.

DOF needs to be good at identifying targets. How does Roeder fit that bill?

    Bring in Scolari.

Alan Shearer will be our next manager. Why do you think freddy gave him the "ambassador" role. The reason is so that he can't be poached by other clubs to be their manager, without fred knowing. I suspect Roeder will have another season of mediocrity next year but will be perfect for big al to come into a stable environment with a sqaud full of youthfull players. Even if that isn't Sheppards plan then it will be a great back up plan.
  4. Chelsea. I dont believe all this Chelsea are runing football nonesense. Man Utd have already proved this season that Chelsea can be beaten for the title, whether they win it or not. It's all about the title race and excitment that counts to me and this year they haven't disapointed tbh. If Man Utd win it this year who do you think will win it next year? I'd bet alot of money on Chelsea. However, if Chelsea win it then next year will be very open with a fantastic Man Utd and an ever improving Arsenal. Liverpool may even have a shot but Chelsea will have lost all hunger.

    Probable England team

I'd go for: Robbo Neville Woody Ferdinand Bridge Carrick Gerrard Lennon Barry Dyer Rooney Lampard hasn't deserved the england shirt in quite a while. I feel the mixture in midfield would have a nice balance of biteand flair. If you have Rooney, Dyer, Lennon and Gerrard in the same team all you need is one player to perform, to get the others playing well. I actually like the team first posted but it relies on Lennon and Dyer supporting Rooney as the one way Rooney struggles is when his back is to the goal.
  6. I am not worried about Martins. He hasn't scored more than 20 goals in this league yet so has little chance of a big money move just yet. However, if he does keep on improving at the rate he is then we may have an awesome talent on our hands or a huge pot of gold.

    How good were

There are three different types of central midfield players Defensive midfielders (Keane,Hargreaves and Gattuso) Positional midfielders (Carrick, Pirlo and Alonso) and attacking midfielders (Scholes and Cahill). Micheal Carrick may only be a good passer of the ball. However, i'd argue if thats the case then Roy Keane was just good at tackling and Alan Shearer at goal scoring.
  8. Thank you Gejon. Was waiting until someone mentioned Nolan. Hes been consistantly fantastic and is perfect for internationals too. I would put money on Barton or Nolan being more succesful than frank lampard has been recently.

I'm sorry but nobody should ever hope that Manchester united win this league. It would be ok to say "I hope chelsea dont win it" but not the other one.

Drop the s**** one, he stands out of them three names, no brainer. I'm sorry mate but none of them players are "shit\\ Drop the s**** one, he stands out of them three names, no brainer. [/quote Drop the s**** one, he stands out of them three names, no brainer. I'm sorry mate but none of those players are "shit". Hargreaves was outstanding in the world cup, Carrick is a supreme passer of the ball and Scholes is having an absolute stomer.

This might sound silly but i've lost my faith in foreign players like Gattuso. I know he's more of an english type player than italian but i just get the feeling alot of these players can't hack it in this league. I was convinced Ballack would be a success, as he is ready made for this league but hasn't worked out. I have to confess my admiration for the Pirlo,Gattuso combo that has worked wonders for Milan and Italy in the past. I think fergie is thinking similar with Carrick and Hargreaves.

What happens when they sign Hargreaves? With Carrick,Scholes and him they will have a nice problem.

    How good were

Supremely disappointing when they came to SJP. I thought Ronaldo was average and Rooney barely had a shot on goal. On the other hand, Scholes was sensational. Ronaldo has been awesome in this campaign but sometimes the youth in their attack shines through as they just don't deliver (Arsenal, West Ham). Their defence still needs a little work to be as good as chelseas but hargreaves will help on that note. However, when they click they are devastating, as yesterday proved. One things for sure, if Man Utd do win the title this year then they wont stand a chance next year. Chelsea will be back and hungry i believe.
  14. Lennon is a good little player but something about Milner reminds me of old skool english wingers. I think its his knobbely knees. Out of the two Lennon gets the plaudits because he lives in cockney land, however Milner is more productive, the proofs in the pudding. As well as this Milner is ambidextorous and he can also use both feet. The only other english winger that deserves a mention is Bentley who is also having a fine campaign.
  15. Good luck to Woody. We have Gooch now.
  16. Given Phil Neville Lescott Dunne O'Neill Savage Nolan Arteta Taylor McBride Lita
  17. Morten Gamst Pedersen- Just starting to get the credit he deserves. Kevin Nolan- One of the most consistant prem midfielders and hes only 24. Brian McBride- Always gives alot to whatever team he plays for and a great header of the ball. Gary O'Neil and Matty Taylor- I know alot of people rate them but for left sided players they never get in the england team. Oh and whoever put Ronaldo in "Hero" catagory deserves a linching. The guy may be a fantastic footballer but he's also everything i hate about the game today. Diving cunthead.
  18. I think Krul is a prime example of one of our better scouted signings. If there was a blue print on how to do these things then that was it.
  19. I reckon we just scout players we are interested in, rather than be interested in players we have scouted. Which is the wrong way round in my opinion. We should have more emphasis on sending knowledgable people into french, spanish and italian second leagues with a view to pick up their rising stars such as Bale is to our league. i.e more N'Zogbias, less Luques.

    Gooch

The irony is that colman is one of the few managers that likes bramble.

    Gooch

Surely gooch should have known all about mcbrides aerial prowess? Hope he had a good performance. Just got back from work but i'm guessing taylor was left back and Carr right back? How anyone could leave Nobby out for Carr is beyond me.
  22. Probably deserves it but i'd have preffered it if they had waited until the summer to bring him back into the squad. If he doesn't get injured on england duty he may have turned a corner. Apparrently Woodgate,Barry and Barton are set to be selected too.
  23. Roeders transfer policy is perfect. His ability to go out and get the players he wants is suspect.
  24. Where do you think Upson will end up? Apparently he wasn't at Brums training today. I reckon it will be no suprise to see him end up at west ham for a stupid fee like 9m. Ludicrous!
  25. I'm glad he has an eye on a permanent deal because that indicated he is ready to try his bollock off for the team. Hopefully, this will give some of the other defenders a kick up the backside too. Glenn Roeder can no longer refer to Bramble as the big fella anymore.
