Don't trust anything these days but i did sense honesty in his words. I think he knows he'd look a right prat if he lied, then again he will have learned off the master. When he says "not just interest from abroad", i can't help feeling that he's reffering to Freddy.
-
After this shit, i'd take Shepard back. Not because i like him but because he's a step up.

Wigan and Dave Whelan showing more intelligence than Ashley and Co... again. As someone said Martinez could be an upgrade for Wigan, with a profit.
-
He has had too many chances and earns too much money.

Someone will take Owen on a pay-as-you-play basis, i'd imagine, he's still got enough of a reputation to get that at the very least. Pay as you play are a thing of fiction, it will never happen. Especially when you consider that Owen will have well paid agents looking for their share. I think he'd prefer a wage cut than take that sort of deal. As for Martins, if those clubs are interested in him then all that matters is £££. Sell him to the highest bidder, regardless of the debate of how talented he is. If we get more than 6m, then this club will benefit massively from his departure.

I think it's a case of Shearer "hanging around" to see what happens with regards to takeovers and the future of the club. If the club don't make a quick sale then i think Shearer will be appointed on a low contract.

I seriously doubt anyone's in Dubai.

Anyone think that Ashley may have made that statement on saturday knowing full well that there are interested parties? Seems the most likely scenario to me. It's more likely that their interest has has made him want to make a sharp exit.

Why can't we get the bloke with the biggest yacht; it's always second-best for us... We will. He's obviously buying the club to set St. James' Park afloat. Then he'll notice he bought a club with Nicky Butt being the main engine in midfield. Yes but without a manager we are ruderless. We have also just sank into the second tier of english football.

Lita is a great shout. Always thought he's a canny player.
-
David Craig..."my sources inform me" That one often does it for me. Or when Alan Oliver had his "finger on the pulse".
-
There's two things wrong with your statement. Firstly, David Craig is NEVER on any ball. Secondly, this is very probably all bullshit.
-
Why can't we get the bloke with the biggest yacht; it's always second-best for us... Abrahmovich already has a club.
-
Clearly was a canny footy player in his day too... look at all them medals. Even giggs doesn't have that many.
-
Well thank fuck he owns that yacht. Perhaps he could steer the club back into the top flight

I've said before Micheal Owen won't score without service and even then he might not score. Only a few times in his career has he ever created his own goals (argentina for example). With regular ammunition he may still score bag fulls but that's usless for relegation battlers because we haven't created regular chances all season. On the other hand Martins is a player who can create something from nothing like against Boro, or might just force a mistake from a defender. Even though Martins had been shite, at least i felt there was a small chance with him on the pitch. Shearer got stick for being a captain that played up front, so how Owen got the armband was beyond me. I've never seen any sort of captain material in Owen. I don't blame him for keeping his mouth shut though because the chances are whatever he says would be mocked or ignored by most quaters anyway. His autobiography will be an interesting read.

Dave Whelan Bill Kenwright Al Fayed Neither of these have megabucks but they and their clubs have come out of this season in FAR better positions than we have, with glowing reports for their managers too. All three are tossers but everyone of them has shown more awareness of the game than Mike Ashley, damning IMO.

I'm not bothered about how rich our new owners may be, i'd far rather they were sensible with their ideas, honest with their communication and backed their manager.
-
He won't leave this country because of his horse racing. I think he might end up at City, they might be pre-pared to pay for his wages and fall for the "big name" hype.
-
I HATE Everton and i HATE Owen, nice couple then. Hope he bleeds that club of money too, little welsh rat.
-
Nice to hear Ginola speak about KK leaving, "stabbed in the back".
-
I'd be happy enough with a statement like this, "Alan's agreed to stay but there are other issues to sort out before sorting his contract out". Just to reassure me that they still aren't trying to convince him to stay.
-
8m would be brilliant, especially considering the wages we would recoup. I'd invest some of that into signing Kevin Doyle or another experianced championship striker.
-
Funny enough i read that as "Enrique talking to Murcia". Hope the lad does stay, good to see the most of the committed ones are the better players.
-
I hope this is true, i've always seen JC as a person to trust. Hopefully Shearer will bring one of his mates in like Lee or Speed as another trustworthy character among the ranks.
