Not sure we will have time on the last day of the window.
-
Statement from the club coming apparently tonight.
-
No need to unsettle the new players, and give the papers something to talk about in the mean time. Must be something in particular that's prompted this outburst like, whether it's a bid coming in, tapping up, an injury or whatever. Aye, it was always coming, just needed a trigger. My theory... the club are holding out until the very end of the window to sell him and he's frustrated by it and of course we won't replace him.

Nail on head as far as i'm concerned Otter.

Don't think it's disrespectful in the slightest to the new signings IMO. His dig is aimed at the board/management for essentially lying about the level of investment they were prepared to make with the Andy Carroll money and not having the ambition to even try for a CL place - which is what he and fans want for Newcastle. The signings we have made are good (though not as certifiably brilliant as some on here purport them to be), but we have just lost our two top goalscorers in the season gone by, let's not forget. Our business has been "good" at best, but certainly hasn't matched the potential/resources we could push for. He is, IMO, fully entitled to speak his mind. It's not the middle of the season - he's not being disruptive to team morale at a crucial point of the season, and if he feels the management are lying/twisting his motives for wanting out - why isn't he within his rights to put across his perspective to the fans? You can talk about how "if I did that in my job, I'd get the sack.." all day long, but it's incomparable - a footballer at a Premier League club isn't the same. Don't blame him or Barton. Criticising the club for not being all it could be is no crime. Yeah but i'd get sacked at my workplace, why is he any different? I have no doubt in what he says, it's the fact he's said it while he's still here. Like it or not, the objective reality is that the balance of power between footballers at Enrique's level and his employers, and yours with yours (apologies for being presumptuous!) aren't the same. If you could bend your boss over a barrel when he treated you like shit, lied to you and stopped you from fulfilling your potential - are you telling me, you wouldn't? Probably not TBH. If i was in Enrique's place, i'd hand in a transfer request and leave should the opportunity come. I'd then tell my story after i left and probably blow the whole thing wide open from the outside. If i couldn't get a move i'd leave on a free when my contract ran out and then have a whinge.

It's the lying that winds me up. If we are skint or Ashley doesn't want to spend his own money or he's trying to re-coup some of the money he has lost on the club, then fine so long as they come out and be honest. Instead they scheme, lie and fuck players about for what? Just tell the fucking truth, simple. I'd rather hear the truth, than the shite they peddle on a day to day basis.

It's of no shock that a player who is not wanted by the club would agree. Routledge is bound to jump on the bandwagon. The problem is how long before Colo and Tiote follow suit.
-
Alot of people thought there may be a collapse in team spirit after losing Nolan, is this the start of it? Or just Enrique speaking out for himself?
-
I still can't believe we got 35 million for him.
-
God you're tiresome Now are you sure you have spelled tiresome correctly? If not, the spelling police will call and Dave's the founder.
-
Criticising your employer is the problem. Nobody would/should defend our owner.
-
You have to believe what he's saying like. But he's spoke out against the system, not good. That will be the end of the road.
-
Quoted too, bastards. Too late to change. Forgot Dave's on the spelling police these days.
-
You need improvements in defence and strikeforce, not only in quality but also in numbers, before you're getting anywhere near the top 6. I feel unwell hearing the opinion of a Bolton fan. I know it's wrong and i know i'm generalising but i just don't care what you think. P.S No chance of sixth next year.
-
The club have shown some patients on this one. It seems they have always been confident of getting him. If we have agreed a fee, i think we will get him.
-
Aye free the bloody wages up. We could get 100k a week off him and Smith alone, if reports are true.
-
What is he reffering to though? What's that Bailey been saying?
-
Although stats can tell you something, they can also mis-lead you aswell. I've got a feeling this guy could be pretty good for us.
-
Look at the size of Gosling! Jesus.
-
IMO we will sell Tiote anyway within the next two seasons, so to get Sturridge in return would be a bonus (only on a permenant). Doesn't mean for a second that i want to see him leave, this season or any season.

Our fans are fantastic on the whole. In a group of 6000 drunken football fans there simply must be a group of thugs. My take on friday was that the first pitch invasion was funny, regrettable but funny. Expect to hear that chant in the future too BTW, it will be sung at every away game we have next season but i doubt we will ever see it happen again. The secondary problems that occurred were mindless children who thought they were being clever, the majority had nothing to do with this, in fact it was our fans who stopped it from continuing. BTW the security at the ground was shocking, not an excuse for what happened though.

I would sack any fucking agent who called the shots. Surely an agent is there to do what you want, not tell you what to do.
