If it's 0-0 at half time, then we might nick it late on.
-
Still think Hughton might get a cheeky loan in for a centre half, haven't got a clue who though. A "Fitz Hall" of the premiership.
-
One hell of a young team, apart from up front.

A great advert to those local young Shearers, Bruces, Beardsleys and Carricks this will be to know the club will transfer list you without even telling you first hand, and try to turn the supporters against you by releasing rumours about massive wage demands to the press. He's at least as good now at what is required of a premier league defender as Coloccini is, and Taylor will almost certainly improve in the next few years as Coloccini declines. If wages are the problem, then why has the curly haired one not been transfer listed too, we've another 3 years of paying his wages which are almost certainly higher than the fabricated £60k? The reason Colo hasn't been transfer listed is because his contract isn't running out. Doesnt stop him being put on the transfer list. Ditto any of the other players we have on the books who get more than the new wage cap limit. Smith isn't worth £50k a week, why aren't we realising statements saying hes up for sale? I could explain but i'm not going to. If you don't see the difference between the two situations, i can't help you. What I see is some kind of PR game. Players dont need to go on the transfer list before they can be sold, and any club who was interested in signing ST would probably have already made contact with his agent. On another note, how much is Sol Campbell on? They have made a statement, so of course it is some sort of PR game, it doesn't mean it's a bad one though. So now your comparing it to the signing of Sol Campbell on a short term contract?
-
The club should have told him or his agent before releasing the statement. Apart from that they have done very little wrong.
-
I think the club have wanted Taylor out since last summer, i don't blame them for using this excuse to get rid of him.

Na we will get about 4m from a mid table club like Everton, Villa, Fulham, Birmingham, Blackburn, Stoke or West ham.

If he has asked for 40k a week he is taking the piss. Is that £40k a week basic, or £40k a week with bonuses? Doesn't matter, he's not worth anywhere near that money.
-
Exactly, he's had over 6 years in the first team and the only thing he'd be remembered for if he was sold tomorrow is being that local lad who had potential. He's not even worth £30k. Id remember the commitment he showed during our relegation season. If some of his highly paid colleagues had shown an ounce of his drive and determination wed have stayed up. If he's so committed he'll sign a new contract at Newcastle rather than look for a bumper pay packet somewhere else. He probably would if he was offered what he thinks hes worth, whatever that may be. As yet we dont know. I doubt the club has offered him a wage reduction. Has he deserved a wage rise? No, therefore why should he get one? If we have offered him more than his current contract, he wants to consider himself a very lucky boy. We dont know what he asked for, or what the club offered him. What a pointless comment.

The only thing that concerns me is team spirit, not bothered about the money or losing him as a player. The last thing we want is Steven fucking Taylor ruining the good atmosphere around the club atm. I highly doubt he has much influence in the dressing room, so this shouldn't be a problem.
-
He's done nothing to deserve a wage rise, you don't simply get a wage rise because you are a year or two older.
-
I think Williamson will replace him and he only cost 900k.
-
Most of the evidence points to the fact he's a bit of a cunt and if he's wanting parity with the likes of Colo etc he can fuck right off. Coloccini isn't worth 60k a week, so Taylor certainly isn't either. I'd like to think his transfer fee will go towards another addition in a more "needed" area of the pitch (Ben Arfa ), although i doubt out it. Taylor's far from a loss to our squad, in fact it may well be a positive thing to lose the most disruptive influence in the squad. If anyone was going to leave the club, he was.

Enrique was far from pathetic in his first season. Only Sky bandwagon jumpers think that.
-
Tuncay would be perfect. Very good player.
-
Hughton's signings so far have been pretty good on the whole (Leon Best aside), so if he did get RSC i'd trust his judgement.
-
Holland has produced some excellent strikers in it's time and some over-rated ones. It's always hard to judge and always a risk when you sign them.
-
I'd love it if we got Santa Cruz on two conditions: 1. The deal was right financially 2. He stays fit Alot of people are saying he's not the type we need but i'd say he plays to our strengths. Him and Carroll would torment defences. Not saying i wouldn't mind someone with a bit of pace too mind.

Redknapp "Tapping up is rife in football these days".... Inside track there Jamie?

Pure cunt, it was good to see Murray remind him of his comments.
