  1. Despite Henry being French, and Cristiano Portuguese? Henry was all about the Va va voom man
  2. THE greatest player of all time http://img54.photobucket.com/albums/v165/xknowonex/Hefner.jpg
  3. Individually probably Henry, for me though Ronaldo adds that little je ne sais qua to the whole team which Henry never quite managed. A gnats pube between them though

  5. I think it's more about a sense/feeling about who you expect to deliver. You expect (that cunt) Gerrard to deliver when it matters. The key is to consistently deliver in these big moments because those are the only moments that will matter 20 years from now. That's why even though players like van Basten had a short-ish career, they'll always be remembered for their 'moments'. What's Ronaldo's 'moment' so far? What's any top footballer's 'moment' so far? I'd say that even Ronaldinho hasn't had his and will not go down as one of the greats. Great players have moments/tournaments which are forever associated with them. Eusebio had his 4 goals against North Korea as his moment, van Basten the wonder goal, Baggio with his incredible play in the '94 WC, Zizou the double in the WC final and the goal against Leverkusen - obviously I could go on but that's the gist of my argument. Only if its in a Liverpool Shirt and he can cheat. Gerrard is no where near being a great if Ronaldo the second isn't
  6. Not that funny considering we are now 3pts from relegation like. Not for us maybe, but I always love seeing Arsenal implode
  7. 'Giving hoodies a bad name' Stelling - Legend
  8. Newcastle is as multicultural as London tbh. It might be as multicultural (well, it isn't is, it, by a fucking long shot, but that isn't the point), but its also nowhere near as interesting. Two points: 1) If London wasn't interesting enough for him,. NEwcastle won't be. LEts not get the pathetic provincial blinkers on about that. 2) Why the fuck woudl he want to come here? And dont say fucking Keegan. No player of his age gives a toss about Keegan. I fear we're too small a club for him. A player of Reyes age would know all about Keegan's Newcastle of the 90's. Not saying he would want to come here, but if he had any interest in football growing up he would know about Keegan as a manager
  9. Heard a whisper possibly Coventry. Someone who works up there, probably just a rumour though
  10. It's hilarious when these debates on financial matters take place on here. Loads of people chip in but only about 1 or 2 people seem to have any idea what they're on about. bet you mean yourself and chez I make that 3!
  11. I was brought to belive the main threat is the person who puts the ball in the net the most. Are world stars not talented individuals? Who was the better signing Kluivert or Bellamy?
  12. Although true its not really the point is it? The signing of Bellamy and Robert helped transform the team and for 2 seasons were 2 of the main threats we had. Its irrelevant what has happened since then to the argument, we need signings such as those two - i.e not world stars but talented individuals who can win games and bring the best out in others
  13. Bellamy and Robert were practically given away tbh ,Owen did not set the transfer fee and in recent weeks has shown his worth and with good signings around him he will show football he hasnt lost nowt and will take us back into the top 5.Getting back to Bellend and Robert they are both there own worse enemies and frankly Sourpuss had to get rid and Robert has been shit since he left us . Byut signing them took a mid table team and turned it into a Champions League team. Suddenly Shearer had a foil, the team had balance, there was an alternative to putting everything down the right wing and we had blistering counter attacking pace. A (fit) Bellamy and Robert (of the 2001-2002 vintage) would have made a marked improvement to this team too.
  14. Keegan didn't sign Kelly did he? Went for Pedro myself, run very close by Lee though. Without those two (and possibly Les) there would have been no Shearer
  15. Didn't Fred also come out with something similar (or it may even have been this story) then the following week we signed Andy O'Brien for about £1m?
  16. What I said and this as well. Very cynical IMO. And I'm cynical as fuck. "A good piece of lateral thinking" Was it Phillip Green who said this to Ashley on the plane back from Hong Kong? Some retail billionaire with no knowledge of football anyway. I wonder why a retail giant was consulted and why he thought it was good thinking? They've become mates, Green has taken Mike under his wing a bit since the floatation of SD
  17. Commentator after the goal 'Fianlly some life from the Newcastle fans' Thought we'd been fuckin awesome all game tbh
