Want Sunderland to win. Will be much better for football in general if the dominance of the Big 4 is broken. Christ almighty. That'd put Sunderland 1 point behind us man! Compromise - Draw! Or even better, a mass brawl and 10 point deduction for each team

Love it when Hartlepool score/concede

It was only a joke mate. Blatently had terrible acne as a kid! Pre season tour to Middlesborough tbh

Given - Beaten Easily From Long Range Again.
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Crumpy Gunt's topic in Football
Whether they are Given's fault or not I bet all opposition coaches have data on he number of long range efforts flying past him this season and instruct players to 'have a pop'. Flamini must have tried it 4 or 5 times over the 2 games -

No Zog - 5 card trick -
They didnt play that well in the two games we played them and were still miles in front of us i agree and Sundays game is Vital "They didn't play that well" - have a word. Insane comment. Arsenal in the first half were second only to Man Utd's 6-0, in terms of quality we've played this season imo. I haven't seen a side pass that well against us this season, they were quality. Second half, we were just gash and they just continued to clutch us snug in their palm. A good team know when the opposition is beat and stifle the game. Arsenal did this to perfection second half today

Its tight and and I am fearful for being dragged right into it but f****** hell. KK couldnt have had a much tougher start than this could he ? SSN said another Goal of the Season for No 2 You have to wonder why so many people fancy their chances from range against Given this season. 2 years ago Flamini's shot was saved  what's so funny? It almost sounds like someone he's blaming Given for the goal. Not blaming him for the goal, just pointing out that he used to save wonder strikes like that. An injury like he suffered would restrict anyones mobility, we've been spoilt by having an amzing goalkeeper for the past 10 years or so, now we've just got a very good one.

Debut against us Doh. Work permit?

Dennis Wise interviewed on NUFC.co.uk (page 23)
Colos Short and Curlies replied to a topic in Football
so much wrong in that. if we get a DOF (which hasn't been confirmed thats what wise'll be doing yet)fro a foreign country isn't it likely he'll have knowladge of that country alone as thats what you imply about having an english one ? each club on the continent uses DOF's differently, some have more say than others, some the head coach dictates the purchases at some they don't. the advisors who you don't know how they get where they are, a bit like scouts in that even the best are relativly anonymous. my guess is that someone reckons they have sen something in wise that he can bring here in the same way without having the great reputation someone saw something in wenger when he was merely a coach What's so wrong with what I said? The way I see football people is that everyone knows generally about what is going on at the top level in each country but not too much at other levels of the game. So I imagine that Newcastle will know about most players in the top leagues in Europe but not too much below that. So for example if we got a German DOF then he would have expert knowledge of German football and have a whole set of contacts that could be used to our effect. Contacts that we don't have at the club! Look at Man U, Liverpool and Arsenal. All of them take advantage of the foreign element to their football setup. To be honest there would be nothing wrong at getting a DOF who did not know too much about English football as we should have that well and truly covered! It would also bring in fresh ideas. The thing I have against the advisers is that they have no history of knowing about football. That's why you end up with laughable people like Grant at Chelsea and possibly Redknapp getting the Toon job! At least with scouts a lot of them will have been ex players or have dedicated their lives to football! I cannot believe your comparing Wise to Wenger, yes Wenger had to start somewhere and without knowing his history before Monaco I imagine he would have got where he did through his own brilliance and also hard work. He earned the right to be where he is. I couldn't say that about Wise! That would be the A Grant with a better record than Jose over his first 28/29 games in charge at Chelsea then. -
Anyone else see Muntari literally get bummed in the face in the Ghana game?

Talksport suggesting Gudjonson to Citeh. Would still be a good signing for us, just behind Oba

More chance of Europe than relegation imo

Martins breaks ranks to attack Allardyce reign
Colos Short and Curlies replied to EthiGeordie's topic in Football
One worry is that as KK has given Owen the armband he is a starter when fit. Can Oba and Owen play together? We still need an answer to this. My view is that they can play together as long as the midfield are playing on the deck and looking for quick balls forward. There maybe the problem -
The One Thing We Need, Above All Else...
Colos Short and Curlies replied to Shak's topic in Football
Darren Bent for me. Yes Spurs paid well over the odds for him, but you could build a midfield and supporting striker around him, he will run the channels and always looks for the ball. Probably would be available too.
