  1. Quote from Assou-Ekotto in the Evening Standard.................... There's a lot to be excited about at Spurs now with the new training ground and maybe a new stadium. It feels like the future could be really good for the fans but if the players don't stay, we could end up like Aston Villa.
  2. So how the f*** is he refereeing a game between two PL sides? He really was a disgrace People on the Blackburn forum say he was excellent...............
  3. Tom Huddlestone has decided to grow his hair and insists he will not stop until he next finds the net – all in aid of charity. The midfielder recently set himself the challenge but was met with a voice of doubt from one of his friends that he would actually see it through. So by committing himself to raising money for Cancer Research UK, Tom has all the inspiration he needs to steer clear of the barber shop until he is back on the scoresheet. And now he is calling on your support! Tom aims to raise £75,000 for a charity close to his heart and is hoping fans will help him reach his target. You can donate at Tom’s JustGiving page, http://www.justgiving.com/huddlefro. He said: “I’d been thinking about growing my hair for some time and when I told one of my friends that I would do so until I scored my next goal, he didn’t believe me! “So doing something for charity at the same time gives me a clear reason to do this and I am determined to see it through. “I have lost family members to cancer so it is a charity I strongly believe in. Any way fans can help me raise money would be greatly appreciated.” We will keep you updated on the progress of Tom’s new ‘fro’ as the growth continues… The 24-year-old is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, so you have time to get behind the cause before Tom is back in action and the clippers threaten to make a re-appearance! http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/news/articles/let-the-huddlefro-grow.html By the time Hudd gets his next cut I reckon he'll be making Andy Carroll look like he's bald!

  5. Not directly related to the Olympic Stadium but being said that Levy has finalised deals with Government/Boris Johnson/Haringey council. No idea what the extra money/incentives have been given but Levy is said to be delighted. Plans are reverting back to 60k seater (the last plans were for 56k) retaining the "Kop" end, more housing and some University/Tech becoming tenants of what could have been a problem area of the development. http://i51.tinypic.com/2qwfrwl.jpg If that's how it turns out the wait and the gesturing over the Olympic Stadium would have been worthwhile. Official announcements expected with 3/4 weeks.
  6. They talked briefly about him on the Guardian podcast a few weeks ago. Basically, they said he's completely embraced life in France. Eating the food, learning the language. Its decent like, and hopefully the 'softer' league will allow him to play without getting injured. Nothing new there then
  7. simple really, rent the stadium for a relative pittance, sell Upton Park for housing or whatever the Porn Barons pocket a s*** load of money which West Ham as a club will never see Don't think either of them have considered any implications for it beyond that I think you'll find that Upton Park is mortgaged to the hilt. Hangover from past owners and a reason why the porn brothers got the club for so little.
  8. For me, it just wouldn't look right - after having a (hopefully) successful Olympics next year, I would be disappointed to see it in the hands of a club of Orient's stature. The "legacy" being Leyton Orient playing there just wouldn't sit right with me There has been talk about a Rugby Union side using it and AEG (Spurs' would be partners) are still interested using it for concerts etc. I think it would get used more with Orient on board than Wham tbh. Which Rugby Union side are you talking about? Saracens
  9. By invitation from Uefa. Invitations were based on the numbers of the youth tournos that clubs entered. I know Spurs entered 16 and won 3 last season, Barca probably went in every one availabale .................... and probably won most. They gave our kids a tonking 5 or 6-0 in one in Mexico.
  10. I didn't think a new thread would be appreciated!
  11. The Spurs youngsters have qualified for the knockout stages of the NextGen series (CL style competition for kids) by beating PSV 4-1 this afternoon. Sherwood's star is definitely in the ascendency with the results his progressive squad is producing. Perhaps less surprising is that Barcelona have also qualified having won all their games .............................. 13. Don't think that Taylor should have been booked though. He made a genuine attempt to play the ball and I really don't go along with the idea that there almost always should be a card of some description just because a penalty has been conceded.
  14. Redknapp's comments like those above really irritate me. Yes, it will be very difficult for Newcastle to finish in the top 4 but the pundits in the media aren't suggesting that. Some in the media are saying Spurs could/can/will but that still doesn't make them any more likely to finish in top 4 than Newcastle. It's going to be very difficult for any team bar City, United and Chelsea. Can't honestly agree that Newcastle deserved to win though. For all your possession and pressure Newcastle didn't create many chances, I thought a draw was a fair result, even though I was happy to hear the final whistle. If there had more time there was only going to be one winner, but there wasn't, so the draw a fair result imho.
  15. Another superb performance. There are rumours that Chelsea will be bidding for him either in january or next summer. If that bid did materialise, I doubt whether Ashley would say no like Levy did. I also doubt that Pardew would see any of the money to reinvest either.
  16. Can't disguise the fact that that I was happy to leave SJP with Spurs having picked up a point. Much the better team for the first 20/25 minutes but after that it was all a struggle without Newcastle not really creating much in the way of clear cut chances. I said before the game I thought Spurs would lose if Sandro didn't play and I thought yesterday proved what a fundamental cog he is in the Spurs wheel. Parker and Livermore struggled to match Tiote and Cabaye, I think it might have been different if it had been Parker and Sandro. That said, injuries are part and parcel, that's why clubs have squads. A lot of credit to Newcastle to the way they they controlled the game much of the time. I'm just glad you couldn't convert the control into chances and goals.
  17. Give over. I said a few pages back that without Adebayor Spurs would lose 1-0. Just don't see us scoring a goal with the remaining strikers.
  18. Being rumoured that Adebayor will start and Lennon will be on the bench. Ade's tweeted "Hi guys. Feeling much better and am pushing hard to be fit for the weekend. Have a good day". If he does start and do the best part of 90 minutes then maybe Spurs will have a chance of getting their 5th win on the trot. Without him, no chance imho.
  19. Even though he was given compassionate leave, Walker has made himself available as Corluka is injured.
  20. Numerous times. I've said all along that Orient should have first option and if they wanted a 25000 seater stadium, that's what should become of it.
  21. Clear your desk in readiness Harry. Please. Not happy with twitchy? Not really. He's moved us forward from where we were when he first joined and got us the first taste of CL. But the downside is he won't stay out of the media and has been trying hard to get the sack for the pay off that would follow. He knows that if he takes the England job there won't be a pay off for him, nor will there be if his court case doesn't go well for him. If you recall, he constantly went on about Modric having his head turned and it would be best to rebuild the squad with the proceeds of Modric's sale to Chelsea. Apparently he and Levy had numerous arguments about what Redknapp was saying to the media, Redknapp saying sell and Levy saying not for sale at any price. By all accounts, the atmosphere between the two isn't much better even now. So, even though the results have been going well, we all know he will be gone after the Euro's if not before.
  22. Clear your desk in readiness Harry. Please.
  23. I would personally play Parker and Sandro together in practically all away matches (and a few at home), they control games. Exactly how Bale/Modric/ VdV are fitted into the team is a problem but a nice problem to have. On the other hand, the Sunday League team I managed years ago were useless! I thought it was the players, but maybe not ....................
