  1. Did against Blackburn in the cup, but sure, sarcastic remarks over fact.
  2. If Tiote's out he may well bring in Abeid or play Perch in there to protect the back 4, especially if he's got Ben Arfa on the wing. You know what Pardew's like.
  3. Oh my, did I just see Shefki Kuqi rifle in a 35 yard volley?
  4. Youve already shredded it though? Aye months of re-assembly begins now
  5. Europa qualification needs two top 5 teams or Liverpool to make the final of the FA cup
  6. For fuck sake man. Might just shred me passport and be done with it.
  7. As long as the 3 "big" teams win, it's all good. Obviously I'd rather they didn't go to Wembley but if it's against Spurs or something it'll work out for the best for us as long as they fucking lose.
  8. We've still never started HBA on the right of a 4-4-2. Surely we must this weekend, we always revert to it so why not just bloody start it. Ben Arfa against Adam Drury for fuck sake, too good of an opportunity to miss. Reading the Norwich forum they are split on whether Lambert will play 4-5-1 with Hoolahan off Morison or 4-4-2 like they have much of the season. The fans want him to play 4-4-2 and get the ball into the box as much as possible, obviously think December was our first choice back 4 or something but nevermind. He changes their team massively every week anyway, so it could be any 11.
  9. Chronicle today seems to imply that things have changed since last season, i.e. if the FA cup winners finish 5th or are Liverpool, the runners up will still qualify for Europa league: http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/newcastle-united/nufc-news/2012/03/15/newcastle-s-route-to-european-football-explained-72703-30541875/2/
  10. It won't change anything particularly for us if they do win the CL
  11. Wow Dalglish is even a bad winner.
  12. It's got fuck all to do with luck, we're 7 points ahead of 8th with 10 games to go. We should have the squad looking forwards and not over their shoulders but at the minute we seem to be standing still.
  13. They'll probably appoint Paul Hart, it's what most clubs seem to do at this time of year.
  14. Phil Dowd doing the classic phone, wallet, keys check
  15. Why are Everton insistent on not crossing the fucking ball?
  16. Fair enough, I just don't feel like we've played well for a while but as you say, we did well enough to scrap for points in key players' absence. The Spurs & Fulham defeats have scarred me I think, we can be very easy to get at, and we've only taken 2 points from very two winnable home games. Big ask to get anything on Monday but as you say, few winnablegames coming up. If Everton win today and on Tuesday they're within 4 points of us, closer to us than we will be to 5th..
  17. We've got a reasonable run-in, finally got all of our players back (we've not lost with them back). Agree with the comments about Arsenal being 3rd over Spurs, said last week (or before?) that I thought they'd overtake them by the end of March. Hoping we can get a draw on Monday but anything other than a savaging to our GD will be a bonus. So you think we've played well recently?
  18. Would like a draw here, I'm getting a bit nervous about Everton catching us, we're seemingly on the slide and they're on the charge as usual...
  19. Put Suarez in this week, feel dirty for doing it but he plays twice..
  20. So if Spurs win tonight and the league table stays as it is now, here's how shit happens: From the quarter finals, we're still rooting for Spurs, Liverpool & Chelsea to get through their 3 home ties - should happen. Everton or Sunderland will also be in the semi finals, by this point only these two teams can fuck us up provided we finish top 7. Assuming it all goes to plan then... From the semi finals, if Chelsea (5th) make the final, the extra place will go to the league if: Liverpool make the final (Already qualified via league cup) Spurs make the final (Already qualified for Champions League) Everton or Sunderland make the final but lose to Chelsea (Europa League spot only goes to runner up if winner is in the top 4) If Liverpool (7th) make the final, the extra place will go to the league if: Chelsea make the final (Already qualified via 5th place) Tottenham make the final (Already qualified for Champions League) Everon or Sunderland make the final but Liverpool win (Europa League spot only goes to runner up if winner is in the top 4) If Tottenham (3rd) make the final, the extra place will go to the league if: Chelsea make the final (qualified via league) Liverpool make the final (qualified via League cup) In this scenario, if Everton or Sunderland make the final the extra spot won't go to the league. Obviously if Everton or Sunderland win the cup they will qualify outright and it won't go to the league. Also as league positions change that can alter things but for the most part the rules above are based on league position and not teams. So in summary, we are looking for (assuming we aren't going to make the top 4): Spurs or Chelsea to finish in the top 4, but not both. This will give us more security in the case of Everton or Sunderland getting through. So after Monday, howay Arsenal. Two from Chelsea, Liverpool & Tottenham to be in the cup final, this would keep it nice and simple. If the mackems or Everton do make the final, we'd be looking for teams outside the top 4 to make the final (and to fucking win!)
