  1. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/m/middlesbrough/8257190.stm Not according to the BBC. 3 month loan on September 15th. So, on that basis, tomorrow is his last game of that 3 month spell? Edit: Indeed it is http://www.mfc.premiumtv.co.uk/articles/match-pack-city-in-town-20091212_70638_1902377
  2. Hansen: Gabby, even YOU could have understood that
  3. He limped off, he got a heavy challenge before the substitution, which I think was going to be made anyway.
  4. By last on MOTD, do you mean first on The Football League Show?
  5. Ando's had to go off air at the Ricoh, security alert..
  6. He probably just wants to gan for a walk or something man.
  7. This is all according to John Anderson on Radio Newcastle btw.
  8. Thought Edgar was an absolutely gash full back but would have been decent centre half back-up in this league, not too bothered he's gone tbh.
  9. When Butt came on on Saturday the whole ground went silent, Harewood got a good applause and then people just muttered when Butt trotted on. He's useless and everybody knows it, except Hughton it seems.
  10. Hughton must be delighted his decision on which of the 5 forwards to leave out has been made for him. Seriously though, what a cock. Would have thought becoming a Dad would snap him out of this sort of shit.
  11. If you could change something in football, big or small, what would it be? For example, if it was up to me, I'd have the Europa League winners qualify for the Champions league. If you're going to have a tournament that requires that many games to win it's hardly a just reward to have the winners be re-entered into it, it's more of a punishment. Also it would add some prestige to the tournament instead of just being an unwelcome distraction. The FA Cup - I'd consider putting the winners of this into the CL as well, might stop teams playing their youth. However, a possible problem is that the top 4 all play their best team and everyone else thinks fuck it, what's the point. The Johnstone's Paint trophy (Football league trophy? Whatever it's called) has a rule where something like at least 7 of the starting 11 have got to have featured in a certain percentage of first team games - i.e. Strong teams are put out every round. Could this be trialled on the bigger stage? Video technology on goal line incidents, not so sure about everything else though
  12. What if Barnsley have Odejayi and Moore on the bench? What then, eh? Think your missing my point mate. Of course there are times, like United recently, where the bench has been very strong (Rooney, Owen, Carrick) but they would be replacing players who are of lesser ability than themselves. What I was trying to say is that its good to see that we now have a fairly strong 20 odd, any of whom could justify their place in the starting XI. WTF Why are you calling Manchester United "United" when there are several others United's, for example Newcastle United.
  13. I particularly enjoy "we'll see you when you do a Leeds and implode" - that's a bit of a backwards threat really
  14. The seeds: Brazil, Argentina, England, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, South Africa, Spain Pot 2 - Australia, Chile, Japan, New Zealand, North Korea, Mexico, South Korea, USA Pot 3 - Algeria, Cameroon, Ghana, Honduras, Ivory Coast, Nigeria, Uruguay, Paraguay Pot 4 - Denmark, Greece, France, Portugal, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Switzerland
  15. The ever reliant wikipedia says: But, UEFA say: Yet the Telegraph said: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/european/uefacup/3023605/Back-door-route-into-Europe-is-shut-for-FA-Cup-final-losers---Football.html So, in summary, I don't know. I don't think it'll matter (un)fortunately
  16. IIRC, FA Cup runners up no longer get the spot, it goes to the next place in the league.
  17. Really strange one that. You can see it in the interview with CH though. Cheers Towelie
