Some people on here gave him 1's and 2's out of 10. He wasn't amazing by any means but some just have a vendetta against him because it's cool to hate Shola

Andy Johnson cost £11m and he can't have more than half a dozen league goals, although I haven't checked the stats Not bad for Fulham? Non? Well the thing is they're in the top half, so something is obviously working. Still think for £11m I'd be dissapointed with so few goals

Beated And let's not forget Boro didn't beat WBA

Confirmed, as if it was necessary http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/p/portsmouth/7878084.stm

It was NOTW I think, it had a little bit about signings who made their debuts and they basically said he "sleepwalked" through the game and if this was him trying to prove a point they'd hate to see him otherwise.

Yet another example of a promotion from within the club not working. Also good to see other clubs have been reading the Shepherd handbook, sacking the manager just after a transfer window is a great idea.
-
Grandchild, surely? He's like 50 remember
-
I'm not sure it is. The less decisions Kinnear has to make the better. Having said that it's undoubtedly better to have Martins, Viduka and Shola to pick from up front, even if he will pick Smith

Where's Jonas? Suspended (5 yellows)
-
I thought that didn''t start till the next match We said that before the mackems game. He's definitely suspended for WBA
-
He might not want to drop Jonas but when he's suspended he's got little choice you silly cretin

Carson is total turd, I mean I can understand why he was given a chance when he was in form but since then he's been shocking for club and country and yet he still gets a place in the squad. James is the same as he always has been but the cycle is moving quicker now that the team in front of him is going downhill, the "3 saves then a UH OH" rule is cycling a lot quicker. Robinson is a fat mess, Foster has barely played and that just leaves Rob Green, who I rate very highly but he seems a bit marmite to a lot of fans.

To be fair, these are two decent teams playing each other for about the third time in a fortnight. They're bound to be able to cancel each other out after this much practice

We bid £8m on a midfielder. Two £500k loan deals wouldn't have gone a miss Fair point, we did mess up trying to get in real quality and not taking the safe option. Can't decide if you're being sarcastic or not but surely Johnson, who I admit is quality, was a huge risk for a threadbare squad missing central midfielders, we need players who are fit now. Granted I don't know what happened with the loans or if there was anybody suitable available but if Father Jack is gonig to talk about them being available then it's his own fault.

I was just pointing out you'd missed out the only 2 players those two teams have signed that strengthen them at all (granted I know nothing of WBA's random loanee's) Personally I agree with Mowen, Portsmouth are on a slippery slope and they give me great hope of us staying up.

thomas' post is too big to quote but from that list: Portsmouth plus Pennant WBA plus Simpson Pace will help any side, neither of those two are bad players

Positives: Nolan is Prem experienced with captain qualities, been there and done it in relegation scraps. Taylor takes a decent set piece Taylor can cover several positions. Lovenkrands adds some pace to the squad, though I admit to knowing very little about his general play. Negatives: Still no "door opener" in midfield Losing Guthrie and Barton for the rest of the season and Nicky Butt being old and terrible necessitates more than buying one central midfielder. What happened to the loans? Losing N'Zogbia took away pace from the squad, though he didn't want to be here. There is no back-up for Martins, if he doesn't make a full recovery soon we are stuck with 2 big men up front and that will only work against Arsenal [/cheap shot] However, this doesn't make us any weaker as there never was a replacement anyway. Conclusion: Slightly weaker, but enough reason for us to stay up (Portsmouth, Boro and the like being part of the reason)

I would assume Viduka or Smith would be on the bench aswell.

Wouldn't get too excited about Martins' supposed return. First line of the article: JOE Kinnear is hoping to welcome back Obafemi Martins from a seven-week hernia layoff ahead of this weekend's trip to basement boys West Brom. Hoping being the key word. Joe Kinnear was hoping to tie up 4 deals today. Joe Kinnear was hoping to have Oba Martins back for the Spurs game Joe Kinnear was hoping to have Oba Martins back for the West Ham game. I could go on...
