My worry is that he seems to be a decent motivator, the derby and their second half performance yesterday showing that. It's no fun them being shit if they beat us.

Only played them twice plus two cup ties the same season and we've yet to win. Should have won the Cup tie at their place iirc. We should have beaten them in both cup games but some spectacularly wank finishing meant we didn't.

We haven't won a league game by more than 1 goal since Southampton last season. That was our only league win by more than one goal last season. This lot will be organised and Bruce will be seething after a series of big fat head/cheer up Steve Bruce chants, and Abdoulaye Faye will doubtless score past us again. Not going to be a walk in the park sadly.

Let's be honest, we're playing him down because he's playing for sunderland and some are bigging him up because he's American. He's not awful, he's just average. As TT says, Fletcher is miles better.

Les was shagged after 5 minutes, Ginola is a lot more right footed than I remember. Di Canio was probably the best player on the pitch, he was leaner and fitter than most though. Barton went right through him, which got the biggest cheer of the night. Taibi made an unbelievable save from a header, but Cole came the closest with a shot that hit the inside of the post.
