I believe that if Keegan had grown a pair and stayed anyway, we wouldn't be getting relegated either. Quit on principle, and has been proven right. Do you support Kevin Keegan or do you support Newcastle United?
-
I believe Hull can lose to Man Utd. I believe Sunderland will lose to Portsmouth and Chelsea. But I just don't believe that we can get a point. I don't believe these players have got it in them.

I am shaking my head is disbelief at this comment - can't even insult, its so barmy. Explain then? Bassong didn't even touch Kamara when he went down. CUNT When Bassong pulled Kamara, the linesman flagged for a foul. He was going to get a red card at that point. The fact that their feet touched after and Kamara fell down meant nothing. -

Not offside. Poor defending by Taylor and Bassong. Bassong stepped up without knowing where his teammates were and Taylor was too slow to step up. -

If we win, we are guaranteed survival. -
What an awesome site.

Barca up 3-1 now. First trophy today. Second one this weekend. A third in a couple of weeks?

Some player Diego like. Aye. Think he could have done better for himself tbh. Juve will be good again soon. These teams always come back (Barca, Real, Milan, Juve etc.). Not many clubs can spend £23m nowadays.

I don't think so, that's why I'm amazed when people suggest it. A footballer's career is short, and there's no incentive whatsoever to sign on those kind of terms... unless there is no other club anywhere in the world that would take you. Also, think of the effect on a players morale. In effect you're saying, 'Mark, we think you're a fat, useless bastard who is of very little value to the club, but if you do manage to play superbly and score us some vital goals then we'll go as far as to pay you some wages'. It'll never work. Obviously he'll get a basic wage too. His basic now is probably around £60k. Just make £40k of it as incentives. Pay him £20k/week, and if he scores and we win, he gets himself another £50k. If we win and he plays more than 45 minutes, he gets £30k etc. etc.
-
Unless he takes a pay-as-you-play deal, he has to go. We're paying him top 4 money and getting 2 or 3 good performances from him in one whole fucking season. That's unacceptable.

At the moment being which moment? One match? He's shite. He had one good game but that doesn't mean that he's not still shite. I hope we get rid of him this summer. Just a general comment : don't let the euphoria of yesterday's win cloud the fact that we have some utter dross at this club and that's why we're in 17th because of our goal difference. The players played well yesterday and I enjoyed the win, but man oh man do we need to lose a bunch of them along the way to next season.

Michael Owen - Would you be disappointed if he stayed?
Taylor Swift replied to Liam Liam Liam O's topic in Football
I bet he regrets not signing that contract that was offered when KK was here. -
I agree with this. He'll be much better with some intelligent players around him. You can see him constantly looking up when he has the ball, waiting to see if anyone's making a run (usually not... ) so his effectiveness is restricted. He works hard, tracks back and rarely loses the ball so he can be even bigger asset next season. I still think he's had a pretty decent first season in the Premiership, considering all the turmoil with our team and him adapting to a new, faster and more aggressive league.
-
Why would he do that? He's dropped him and subbed him off when we needed a goal. I think Shearer knows that Owen's not the same player anymore.

Question for Brummie or any other lurking Villa fans we might have
Taylor Swift replied to oldtype's topic in Football
You'll probably get in some trouble if they find out. Maybe thrown out of the stadium for your own safety. -
Obviously we can still fuck this up, but I think this win will be the lift we need to play well against Fulham. We still have to go for the win in that match but I really think that our odds of surviving are better than 50% now.
-
Not really. It's also telling that the reason you decide to return to posting is to gloat over your opinion of a player - a player who's now scored our most important goal of the season so far. He's injured and it's obvious, but the boy showed up for us tonight and I'm fuckin' glad that he's on the pitch right now.
