  1. It was so un-Ridz-like until that last sentence
  2. He won't go abroad. I think he's said that he won't do it again. Everton is a good shout and is probably the likeliest place for him if he sees out his contract. Chelsea, Arsenal and Man Utd have no use for him. Rafa sold him and he's become worse so I don't see Liverpool signing him either. Everton, because he was a fan as a kid and he can move closer to his home. Let's see. We still have a chance of keeping him if we can end up in the top 10.
  3. Owen's got 26 in 58 and Martins has 32 in 90. I should put a disclaimer saying Owen's 'true' ratio stands at 19 in 44 because this isn't the same Owen that we had in his first season here.
  4. Thought that said my name for a second
  5. Why the need to apologise? The Glazers didn't apologise when they increased season ticket prices (before reclaiming the Premiership title...), Abramovich didn't apologise when he fucked up with Mourinho. There are plenty other examples of high profile fuckups by the top clubs in Europe and none have been followed by an apology. Fuck words. Just act. Spend some money and we're all good, Mikey.
  6. 2 at the moment. Will go 3 if we draw or lose to Stoke but this shit doesn't get serious until we've played 25 games or so. Until then, no panic.
  7. It's not the first time he's done it though. He stormed off down the tunnel under Keegan one match too. EDIT - It was Birmingham away. But what happened after he was subbed in that game? Yeah, Birmingham started to dominate. The same happened against Reading and the same happened against Fulham (although we got a goal via a free-kick late on in that match). Even when Oba's misfiring, his presence affects the shape of both teams on the pitch and he scares the fuck out of defenders. When Owen's misfiring, he's invisible.
  8. But Owen had done nothing up until that point. I don't understand why you would say that he was more likely to score than Martins after witnessing the invisible act he pulled. Martins offered us an outlet, and like I've mentioned countless times, we look worse without him on the pitch. You can argue that Owen is mor elikely to come from nowhere and score but that goes to show that his contribution is marginal, at best, if he doesn't score. It shouldn't be praised that he can do that. Owen plays best against tired defenders but not when he's as tired as them! We should have gone three up front or Owen should have come off. The ball will still stick up top with or without Owen because Viduka was handling that. Considering who had been more dangerous and more likely to score up until that point, Martins should never have been subbed. I wouldn't mind seeing Owen used a super-sub when Viduka's fully fit. Oba can go 90 minutes easily, Owen can come on for Viduka after 60 or so minutes. We're losing him anyway, there's no need to give him the 'he's indispensable' treatment.
  9. If we're focusing on lack of support from the FB alone, I think you're neglecting the fact that Enrique gets forward even less than Beye here. That's true. But on the left Jonas can cut in effectively but not so on the right. I guess that's not focusing solely on lack of support from the fb but either Beye has to push forward more or Jonas has to switch wings. I don't even mind Jonas starting on the right then drifting over to the left when Charlie has the ball. Create a 3 v 2 situation against their rm and rb.
  10. Needs to be played on the left wing. Beye doesn't offer enough support on the right at the moment so Jonas is always isolated and that's no good.
  11. Is that why they're top of the league? Man, some people overreact. So what if they lose at home to Liverpool and Arsenal? It's never been about how you play the big teams anyway, always about how many points you drop against teams outside the top 4. I read a Chelsea fan today saying that if Grant had been in charge and Chelsea had been playing the way they have this season, he would have been fired. Fuck me, what a daft cunt. Top of the league, free-scoring and having a home game in the Champions League to seal a place in the next round. They've been brilliant so far.
  12. I hope he can start again. If no one's going to buy the club, then he needs to give it another go. First thing is to invest in January.
  13. This is why football is great. Come on, Arsenal!
  14. Again, just 30 seconds ago.
  15. Connection Problems Sorry, SMF was unable to connect to the database. This may be caused by the server being busy. Please try again later. Got that one minute ago.
  16. Zoggy's done fuck all this season. He dribbles into blind alleys and has lost that spark that he had. Jonas on the left because he can cut in and that causes trouble for the defence and Geremi on the right because his crossing is good and he's got a knack of setting up goals.
  17. Loved the historical facts read out by the commentator there
  18. What was wrong with van Persie's goal?
