  1. I hope not. I don't rate him, especially since he chose Chelsea (and the money and the bench) over first team football here.
  2. Sorry, as big a Charlie fanboy as I am, there's no way he looks like he can be anything like Ginola. The successful first year that he had for us is starting to become a distant memory now that he's continued to have attitude problems and seems to be itching for a move away. There's also the issue of him maybe not fitting into the formation that KK might use, as was the case in the end of season run in the 4-3-3. Apart from that, Charlie needs space and he isn't tricky. His strides are long and thus often gets in trouble when dribbling. Ginola, on the other hand, had the ball fucking glued to his feet. He was also two-footed and breezed past players while Charlie seems to jerk past them. Different players, different styles. One's way above the other quality-wise.

    Hear hear

Never heard of Paul Dixon but he's a smart man by the look of things.
  4. Hey, has anyone forgotten that there's no smoke without fire?
  5. You know which other South American player never stops running? Carlos fucking Tevez. I'd love to hear Maetihs complain about Tevez not being a 'flair' player.
  6. how did you get a net spend of 10m? i added up 24.7m paid out, and 21.2m coming in, so an overall spend of 3.5m. sunderland, in comparison, had an overall spend of 36m, over ten times our figure. taking into account the added tv money arriving i hope to see better. i'm not criticising ashley as the time to make a definitive judgement is sept 1st but he's done nothing so far and has everything to prove this summer. in this window we havent made a big cash transfer yet, so he has a lot of work to do this next two months. I've got about £25m going out, and £15m-ish coming in (all from .com's transfer history). That's up until the time Allardyce was sacked. The TV money is a good point, but surely that's dwarfed by the fact that it was evident that the board didn't trust Allardyce, and didn't want to be hasty in sacking him (since they didn't know much about how things should be run). They did sack him in the end - bad timing and all but who would criticise that decision now? What has to be considered is that they wouldn't allow Allardyce to spend lots of money because firstly, the debt had to be repaid, and secondly, they didn't trust Allardyce enough. You are correct in saying that they need to show their intent this summer and I'm quietly confident that come September 1st, many of us who have urged patience and trust will be smiling.
  7. Our net spend was still £10m so I don't see why there's a problem. The net spend is pretty much what we've spent for the past 10 years so surely the irony isn't lost on all the people who said 'we spent fuck all'? If we spent fuck all last year, we've spent fuck all in the past 10 years. Granted, it isn't as simple as that because of inflation of nominal money value and the inflation of transfer fees in general, but even in the year before Ashley bought the club, we spent something like £9m (from quickly perusing .com's transfer history). So, £9m net spent in 2006, £10m spent in 2007. If you complain about 2007, surely you should complain about 2006 as well, amirite?! Chlorophyll? This is fucking borophyll. I hate these threads.
  8. A good deal for both sides, I think. Taylor's got some security and some more money, and for the club, we've only signed him to a 3 year deal so we're not stuck with him for the long term if he does not develop. It's also pretty good that this deal was done without messing around in the press (except at the beginning when Taylor's father was a bit of a moron). This seems to be the modus operandi of the club and it continues to impress me. This is also another sign that the board know what they have to, and are willing to do it
  9. Err, no he wasn´t, not really anyway.. He mainly had to fund his acquisitions by selling players.Net spend so far on the playing staff (transfer fees) over a one year period has been well under 10 million, which is quite low considering what clubs around us have spent.. fact Hardly. If that's the case, it surely was a one-off, unless you're ready to tell su who we sold to finance the Modric bid, then? I find all these questions regarding the financial situation of the club quite worrying because it seems that some people are unable to grasp why we are (were?) in this situation in the first place. Maybe if you give a nice go at answering why the club's wage bill is (and was) through the f'in roof, turnover is down, no European footie and that we had a bunch of mercenarian cocks playing for the team, then I'm sure people will start taking some of your answers a bit more seriously. It's becoming very tedious that certain key facts are being ignored in these arguments (by both sides, I have to say), and then each and every thread is ruined. I still cannot believe that a thread about an article by Shaun Cuntis reached 12 pages. Amazing.
  10. To be fair to Jol, he does get it right sometimes. Maybe it's a lucky guess, maybe not. If you spread enough rumours, one's bound to end up being correct. Or he may actually know someone. I do remember him getting Berbatov (and the fee) correctly. Carrick to Man Utd was also correct. (and if Anton to Spurs happens, he'll also have gotten it correct)
  11. I'm sure KK's reading, RM
  12. Yeah, Gerry Armstrong has always sounded like he knew his La Liga. The dude who said good stuff about Luque was Souness' mate, not Armstrong.
  13. I wonder how long it took for you to do that. Check out the code for it!
  14. I think it was him who completely bum raped Liverpool at the Mestalla a few years ago. Was quality in the match they dominated at Anfield as well. He sadly peaked around that time, despite being only 24 or so. I'm not sure why he's lost his way, but if there's a manager you trust to restore self-belief in a player.. to help him believe that he's awesome.. to bring the best out in a player.. you know.. we all know who that is
  15. Exactly. So why are you quoting the the July 1st crap then, I'm honestly confused ?? If the only thing that's important about the window is when it closes, then why the hell have you been complaining all this time? Just wait until the transfer window actually closes, and then you can properly evaluate the board and KK on the players that they've signed and whether they've addressed our wants and needs. Complaining now is not only futile, but it's fucking painful to read because a little patience, much like many people suggested earlier, will be rewarded. The board and KK aren't stupid, so they know players must be signed and the team must be improved. This signing is a start, and I'm sure there'll be more to come. Just be patient and wait until it closes before claiming the end of the world is near.
  16. If James is right and we have signed him for £1m, then it's fucking awesome that we've added some pace to the team for such a small fee.
  17. I haven't seen Elano apart from this past season but for comparison's sake, when Aimar was at his best, there's no fucking doubt that he's on a different planet to Elano. When he was awesome at Valencia for those 2 or 3 seasons, he could easily dominate a game in the way that Zidane dominated games. He just wasn't consistent enough; however, the ability is there.
  18. ...? Having sex with a corpse, and then getting your friend to jump on the body when you're finished, so you can catch your cum and their lovely vaginal excretions (maggots and all) in your mouth. Then swallow to finish. ... what? oh man, that's bad.
  19. You had to have heard about Superman-ing a lass...
  20. How is Italian football boring? A match there averages more goals than the Premiership does...
  21. Can people stop quoting the FM stat? It's fucking up the page.
