  1. I wanted a few positive posts before someone came in with a reality check.

    Deco

Yes yes, another thread by me about Deco. But check this out. http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story?id=535623&cc=5739
  3. Not good enough defensively and his lack of awareness of teammates will be a problem. But, I see those things as things that he can improve on given time and coaching.
  4. Not getting too attached, but I'd lose it if he was signed. 'Attached'?

    Chris Baird

As a really cheap backup? Maybe?
  6. I think it will end up being this way anyway. Firstly, you limit the 'main' subs and thus the size of the squads of the big teams, and secondly, you give a chance for the youngsters to be thrown in.
  7. So it's an either/or situation? We're not going to be signing both then?
  8. You got me wondering what the table would look like in terms of goals per minutes played.... Pos standard Pos/Player Goals Minutes Minutes per goal 1 1 Cristiano Ronaldo 31 2746 89 2 2 Fernando Torres 24 2533 106 3 2 Emmanuel Adebayor 24 2928 122 4 11 Jermain Defoe 12 1605 134 5 5 Aiyegbeni Yakubu 15 2303 154 6 4 Roque Santa Cruz 19 3187 168 7 5 Dimitar Berbatov 15 2689 179 8 5 Robbie Keane 15 2714 181 9 11 Wayne Rooney 12 2181 182 10 9 Carlos Tevez 14 2677 191 11 5 Mwaruwari Benjani 15 2897 193 12 17 Frank Lampard 10 1954 195 13 10 John Carew 13 2546 196 14 14 Michael Owen 11 2175 198 15 17 Dean Ashton 10 2001 200 16 Obafemi Martins 9 2051 228 17 14 Nicolas Anelka 11 2575 234 18 11 Steven Gerrard 12 2840 237 19 17 Dave Kitson 10 2522 252 20 14 Gabriel Agbonlahor 11 3278 298 And Owen is still 14th. Only really shines a light on Defoe. Benjani drops too. Is 14th supposed to be good? To me, yeah. Returning from bad injury, missed few games, played under BSA, our service (esp in 442, nowt from midfield and his partner was Smith) and all. Also, we ain't gonna get anyone better than him. That's for sure So, we MUST keep him. We aren't going to get anyone better than him? I hate it when a topic about Owen gets sidetracked but look at whose name is next to 16 and you'll have my opinion of someone who's more important to the team than Owen is.

  10. And NONE of the staff/club officials involved in any of those deals are at the club now. And all, bar Duff, have actually left the club. Sound argument like. this is one of the big reasons I'm hopeful of a bright future, yes we'll make the odd mistake but the ambition is there, Mike just has to match it with his wallet.... I'm not sure Mike has that much money. Living in NY is probably quite draining on his pockets, tbh.
  11. With a significant majority voting yes, I'm guessing it'll happen.
  12. Oh fuck off Chelsea, now I can't even do the 'goal difference shouldn't really count' routine to my Man Utd supporting mates.
  13. 2/2. I agree that he doesn't exactly inspire confidence but he hasn't missed so far.
  14. We're just shit in a 4-4-2. I hope this game puts paid to the myth that we were only shit in a 4-4-2 because we lacked confidence and all that shit.
  15. Scholes should have been off and he knows it. And Ferdinand handled in the box earlier. Typical reffing for Man Utd.
  16. Duff Carroll Owen Zoggy Butt Smith Possible?
  17. One of the worst crossers of the ball in the Premiership iyam. Ask any Liverpool fan and the first thing they mention is that his crossing is absolutely wank. If he was better at it, don't you think he would have been playing (and thus crossing) more for Crouch and Torres this season? He's just not good enough, and he's got a silly little party-animal rep as well. No thanks.
  18. Young British left-footed ever-improving player who's capable of playing both LB and LM to a good level and is quality on set pieces vs a sulky Frenchman with a bad attitude who had his best season 2 years ago? That'd be the immediate perception of both players and why, I imagine, Zoggy isn't worth as much as Bale. Zoggy does have skills, but it's being overshadowed by all this other stuff.
