think we'll make a few changes 2moro HARPER R TAYLOR HALL COLO JOSE ROUTLEDGE BUTT NOLAN JONAS BEST CARROLL got a feeling that Simpson will get a break, he's limped off the pitch 2 games on the trot and think Guthrie will get "rested". Best will come in for the injured lovenkrands. Butt will have a really solid game but still gets slaughtered on here!! lol ;-) -
the dates have now been announced for the Youth cup semi final. the away game is on 8th April at Villa Park and the return leg at SJP is on Friday the 16th April ko 7pm.
-
I'm guessing exactly the same. then lovenkrands wouldn't have played very many games, pretty sure Hughton would've played Shola and Carroll up front.
-
i've been amazed at the stick he's got this season, i think he's been tremendous all season but the last 2 games sum up the inconsistancy of youngsters, brilliant today following what was probably his worst game of the season against the boro.

would much prefer they sack the manager after we've beaten them, sacking him before we play wouldn't be a good thing. -
iirc they were against the name change but as they'd just launched the yes we can campaign they couldn't and didn't want to be seen as organising a protest against the club.
-
i thought he done ok tonight when he came on, didn't have any chances to score but apart from one badly over hit pass that went for a throw thought his general "all round" game was good. The quicker the lad gets a goal tho the better just to relieve the pressure.

All most people want is some form of communication from them, an update on what's happening either way. It's been a fair while since there's been one. Seems a reasonable enough request if they want to "represent supporters interests" as you say. i suppose thats a fair enough comment and i agree that they should come out and give is "a progress report", from my understanding the original aim of buying the club is now looking to get a stake in the club, however i may be wrong. I do know that the main topic for NUST at the minute is the elections of the new committee which are currently taking place. The best place to get updates from them is by listening to toon talk on a Monday night, you can get the link via nufc.co or facebook, the regularly have both Neil Mitchell(chairman) and Steve Hastie on it and they tell you what there upto and are still doing the roadshows, think there's one in Bedlington in the next week or so. I'm not sure at all how the stake in the club idea could work with Ashley still there, but thanks for the info. me neither but then it could work both way if Ashley is serious about staying(i have my doubts, i think he'll be off first chance he gets a decent offer) as if he wants to get back onside with the fans and rebuild bridges then he needs to communicate with the fans and doing it via the supporters trust could be a way. very unlikely but you never know.

Seems they can't win whatever they do and yes Brummiemag it does always seem to be the same people doing the sniping. Can't believe some people are having a go regarding the spiderman masks, its a bit of light hearted fun in honour of Jonas and raising money for a great cause in the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

its the same every year down there, its always a nightmare, my mate upset 2 of the coppers when we were pulled over at Wynyard waiting for the escort to the ground when he asked them were they in the Cleveland police cos Northumbria or Durham wouldn't take them!
-
that all happened next to us, there were a few verbal taunts, few of their fans were spouting off and gesturing for a fight so a few of our lot rushed at them and tried to pull away the netting that was separating tha fans! The bloke behind me was arrested soon after for absolutely nothing, he was standing about a foot into the gangway and this copper grabbed his jacket and tried to push him back in, when the lad said get your hand off me and tried to get the coppers hand off him he was nicked!

Is Mike Ashley steering Newcastle United in the right direction?
binnsy replied to LooneyToonArmy's topic in Football
And Beye, Enrique, Viduka... and then later signed Nolan and Ryan Taylor during a relegation scrap but still didn't think of inserting a relegation clause into the contracts!! -
The youth team discovered there opponents for the Youth Cup semi final tonight, Aston Villa beat Fulham on pens, we now go to Villa Park for the first leg before the return at SJP, dates tbc.
-
Just got back, i still can't feel my toes though!! was really impressed with Whitley who fully deserved the win. Newcastle were poor and struggled to cope against a bigger stronger team, definately men against boys!
-
Anyone have any idea how much Whitley Bay are charging 2moro night?
-
i'm not just saying this after a 6-1 win but all week i was saying that he should have another weeks rest/training and come back at Boro for a much tougher game than a home game v Barnsley, where he wasn't really needed.
-
fuck me, the players have learnt the words to the national anthem!!;-)

Never heard the radio interview as had no idea he was on until i was reading this thread. While they might be idiots, Llambias would get more credibility if he'd went on the legends, both Quinn & Gibson have had the bottle to go on but they fact that they say upfront that none of the questions will be vetted then Derek would never go on and get a grilling. Re this latest interview, my own opinion hasn't changed, i want Ashley & Llambiar out of my club and if Ashley does intend to stay and not sell up then Derek needs to be replaced by someone with knowledge of how to run a football club. I also think that the best thing Ashley can do is stop going back over how he keeps having to pump money in etc, its his own incompetance for not doing due dillegence and then not re-financing the mortgate on SJP which has caused him to put the money in. Then he should come out,not Derek and lay bare the finances of the club and lets hear it from the horses mouth, publish the accounts and explain where the money has gone and open up some dialogue with the supporters.
-
the link doesn't work for me either
-
i'll play, i haven't played for about 18 months but gladly come out of retirement to play at SJP again.
-
i couldn't give a monkeys, i have no interest whatsoever, the only interest i have in the PL this season is watching the mackems slide towards the bottom3 and hopefully been there at the end of the season.
-
ah right. one think i was disappointed with today was the crowd, just less than 1300 i thought more than tht would've turned up.

Newcastle are at home in the 2nd leg, whoever we play we are away first. I remember a few years ago we played Ipswich in the league play offs, went down there for the first game and were torn apart by Darren Ambrose and Darren Bent, think they both scored two each and we lost 4-0, we then won the home game but had give us too much to do after the first game. Hopefully we won't do anything daft like that again!
