Pre-season (2026/27): NUFC to play Everton at Murrayfield on 12/08/26

Gordon looks really sharp -
We all wanted Diaby and look how he turned out. Willing to go with whatever they think is a good option.
-
We did it with Botman, with AC Milan's interest. He wanted Milan apparently
-
No, it's just the reality of the present disparity in those clubs turnover versus ours. These other clubs can offer a salary that we simply can't match at the moment. So it's always going to be the case that they would rather join them than us. When we get our budgets closer to them, I'll imagine we would be on a more equal pegging.

Didn't really expect this
-
I don't really like the signing tbh. But can't argue with the fee, and the option to buy. That is a lot cheaper than expected. Was it just two years ago that sums of £40 million was banded around for him.

Is your confidence based upon privileged info you've seen or heard?

Nothing will eclipse the Bowyer transfer window imo. We didn't even try to do anything else despite qualifying for the Champions League. We are trying this window and still some weeks left.
-
Slightly reassuring

Was he Arsenal's first choice this summer?

That's the spirit -
Appreciate your posts here. Inevitable that you're going to cop some flak considering the vast majority here aren't happy about the way this transfer window is going. With the info you get, do you get the sense the trajectory in terms of our budgets and transfer wiggle room is closing with the teams ahead of us.

If we have to sell, and not keep an unsettled player, doesn't it make sense to a PIF owned Saudi team and not to Liverpool. I don't get why people would be outraged about this. Would rather he go over there and loan him back in a year. In my eyes they would be doing us a favour, inflated fee (although there are some rules about that) and not to Liverpool.

We need this guy. Should sign him whilst teams have uncertainty
-
Feel people are being a bit unfair with Tosin. Moving from Fulham to Chelsea, doesn't require uprooting everything in your life to accommodate. Was the most convenient move he could have made from that perspective.

Going to be honest don't really like this move. Nothing against Wissa, he's a top player. Just the age and the asking price being the main reasons, but it also demonstrates we have no trust at all for anyone from other leagues.
