Kieron Dyer signs one-year contract extension with QPR
dcmk replied to LoveItIfWeBeatU's topic in Football
Says more about you than Dyer, or any fans who could see what he brought to us at the time. Since that reads like a Neesy post, from what I could understand from the above, how does him being played right back, right wing and occasionally striker say more about me exactly... surely he says more about the faults in his game? Also, I didn't actually say he brought nothing to the team, over time his perceived influence in that era has been exaggerated remarkably. This sudden change is what i pointed out since he was vilified many, many times here. After all he was a limited player with many, many flaws notably having zero positional sense and being a terrible passer of the ball. -
Watching him it just makes you think to yourself 'if he wasn't playing today no one in our current team would have read that'. Makes you appreciate him so much more

I agree with you the shit that he sprouts in post-match interviews pisses me off too. However I really don't see why you needed to include the 'frog' part to your post considering there are some french users on the board and of course half of our team is French ..

Kieron Dyer signs one-year contract extension with QPR

I am a bit perplexed by how his footballing ability during the Sir Bobby Robson rein has really exaggerated for some of you on this board. For a guy who couldn't pass, shoot or tackle it is a bit amazing since I remember reading pages and pages lamenting his poor performances time and time again. He spent the majority of his NUFC career in center midfield but by the end of his time here he became such a liability in that part of the field that we tried him right midfield, up front and even right back. Says a lot. -
That's exactly what SAF is NOT doing..He's resting players when they're up against the weakest teams..Eg. Rooney. The same principle has his trainee, Solskjær, done in Molde..And Solskjær is very good at displaying trust towards his players..When he's asked questions like "you're fielding a weakened team today" he's responding that he got full confidence in the replacements..They will do the job..That of course make the squad players buckle up and run like idiots..A couple of Molde's players have taken huge steps this seasons because Solskjær's approach..which he got from SAF. So your saying we have adequete replacements against the Wigans of this world when we could be possibly be in a relegation battle next season You're still not getting it....We need another striker, that's obvious..But we also have a extremely good midfield that enables us to use a 4-5-1 formation..So relax..All I'm saying is that we should ROTATE players sometimes to avoid injuries. That enables us to field our best team against the best opponents

It is really, I mean its 7 goals in 29 games, a pretty awful record. Shola could score 7 in 29, probably more. His goals to games ratio would say otherwise. Ameobi got 9 in 30 last season didn't he? Which is a better goals to games ratio. Regardless either of these two planks playing any predominant role in our season is f***ing comical. It's not about them playing a PREDOMINANT role, it's about them filling in when we're up against inferior teams that we should be able to beat, even when resting one or two of our most valuable players. Against the inferior teams, they know they are going to be fighting for survival come the end of the season, and will be up for it, the last thing you want to do is play with Lovenkrands, you are effectively a man down. Even in the Championship, every away game, this was the case.

That is most people's problem. We have known for ages he is going so why isn't there a replacement here now? Because the club wanted to wait as long as possible, hoping that Enrique would change his mind..And they need the money from Enrique's sale to finance his replacement..And they cannot take on another player's salary without eliminating Enrique's Stop with this nonsense. Please.

Speaking personally here for a moment... Its not so much the hate for Enrique but the modern footballer which he happens to be one in that when all is said and done f*** the fans f*** the club show me the money show me the f***ing money. He's not at Liverpool for anything else other than the money. Playing for a slightly bigger club than Newcastle is a bonus (I say slightly because they are, although they are way f***ing more successful and always will be if we cannot keep hold of our better players/they can afford to buy them from us) as is international recognition and playing in yurupa. With players its always money first everything else second which is the polar opposite of fans. All I care about is NUFC... Enrique can break a leg now for all I care. To paraphrase OzzieMandias he's history now. Next! Your theory that Enrique only cares about the money doesn't at all cover his Twitter rant, which ultimately cost him 2 weeks wages - that was something he really didn't have to do, he knew he would be reprimanded, but did it anyway. He could have kept shut and still got his move easily enough. So we can safely say he didn't do that for himself.. Maybe he did that to remind us fans of our lying owners?

Shittest left back ever that has played 10 times for his country at the age of 23. This forum, man. Most pessimistic fans ever. Aye but in this case international caps shouldn't come into the equation when like Wallsendmag said, they have no one else at left back, and were even relying on van Bronckhorst recently (who no one here would be thrilled with).

Eh? So he randomly one day decided to predict a transfer publicly for the fun of it? Ok.
-
Where did i say anything about where he was going? Its been 8 months at least of him avoiding signing a deal but yeah lets ignore that sort of thing. Imo he wanted to leave regardless this summer, the twitter rant was a desperate plea to aid that but not the main reason. If it was that obvious he wants out and always has been it's a f***ing joke that we're selling him two days before the start of the season, with nobody else in months ago. All about the coin as per usual, and f*** the team if it suffers. I didn't just mean you btw. It may well be all smoke and mirrors from the club, but surely we have actually wait for a bid from another team. I think binnsy recently said Liverpool wanted Clichy and Jose was the back up plan, if this is true then it makes sense that nothing happened until around now. Phil Thompson announced it was pretty much a done deal back in April. So why did this 'done deal' take almost another 4 month to complete? Who knows? Phil Thompson has clearly got strong ties with Liverpool, and the current staff at Liverpool. It can't be a coincidence he publicly says this and sure enough Enrique ends up over there.

No, but how about 2 players in 8 months.
-
touche, at time of writing believed they had just scraped into Europe.

Why are they a mess exactly? Well they are buying an awful lot of players, have a bloated squad particularly in midfield but with still some doubts over things like their defence. They probably have no idea what their best team is, and there are a lot of question marks over whether the new players will be worth it or gel or adapt. Don't get me wrong, they've done some big business which would please me if I was a fan, but it's also a bit scattergun and it remains to be seen how successful they'll be. Let's not forget they were terrible for a lot of last season. Until Dalglish came in and they accumulated more points than any other team in the second half of the season. The suggestion that they have a bloated squad is funny, they are going to be playing at least 50 games next year and a few players of theirs are about to leave. Love how you are being overly optimistic about our signings and theirs are risky.

Did you bother to read anyone else's opinion, or did you just start spouting this s*** thoughtlessly...? Keegan has lied repeatedly, why do you believe him? Of course he's not going to be honest and say "Yeah, if I hadn't have been so pig-headed and actually gotten on with the job I was hired to do, then I'd still be boss of NUFC" Stumbled across this, it's an interesting read actually.. but an apology would be nice like.

Ben Arfa, cabaye, Ba, Marveaux? DUH! Most of them unproven in the PL! Ba has onyl played 12 games, ffs. And if they joined on the promise of the club pushing on and showing ambition, what do you think will happen next year when hopefully we've managed to stay clear of relegation (which is looking likely)? They will be off quicker than s*** off a shovel. Side point but every player in the entire league was 'unproven in the PL' as some point. Think people place too much on this. There's always an excuse. Their always injured and so they aren't good signings! They're unporven in the league! They're Frencch bottlers! They don't have enough passion! Boring. Tend to agree with this, the lack of any optimism about our new signings is pretty depressing. Cabaye and Ben Arfa in particular I'm very happy about, and Ba is (shock horror) proven to be able to get goals at this level. Well it depends if you believe the squad minus Barton and Enrique is stronger now than what it was on the 1st January? Before that sale and the promises coming from the very top about significant reinvestment.
-
I'm sorry, but that's absolutely pathetic. Damaging for the morale of the entire team, watching their sometimes Captain made to train alone. Disgusting. do you believe barton is whiter than white in this? Well considering a lot of the other twitter users in the team publicly backed him in this, suggests they don't find him the main antagonist That reply is far to sensible. People need to find ways to justify the idea that Bartons turned into an animal again, so that they can delude themselves about our club actually being run really well as it'll make them feel a bit better. He spoke out on twitter, following Enrique? Forget Enrique, Bartons going to ruin morale !! He was supposedly annoyed during a match we poor in v Leeds? There are definately no alternative responses if true, other than making him train alone. Pardew could not talk to him about it, he could not be fined, the situation could not be calmed in anyway using communication. No, we need punishment & to expand the situation further. Its complete stupidity. In some fans cases here i personally believe they don't want to hear anything bad about the club, they want to keep this idea in their head that everything is fine and the players are happy and proud to be here! So in the case when a player speaks out it is then the very defensive attitude of 'oh X is doing this just for his own greed/ego. He should leave and not piss out the rest'. I can personally understand it, the fact that this isn't an isolated incident makes it difficult to buy that JB is unsupported by the rest of the team

Exactly.. he has brought this on himself and as he is still intent on using twitter to air his views it just shows how little care about the damage he does. It would seem this has more to do with his attitude in the dressing room and him thinking he has the right to demand a say on team tactics and squad selection. As was the way with Nolan under Hughton, big headed self important players, who in the end can not be good for the moral of the team. Would Fergie allow that kind of player at Man U ? not a chance. Jose was only fined as he spoke out on twitter, I think Joey was on hid way before he started his tweets on Sunday. Roy Keane, the guy who publicly demanded that the club apologise for what they said to the fans about his renewed contract. Ferguson didn't force him out when Keane attacked the fans at Old Trafford... oh and not forgetting always, always slagging off his team mates when the team went through a loss of form! Yup but Keane was 10x the player Joey is but I bet he never screamed like a c*** at Fergie in the dressing room infront of the squad. Fergie still got shot of him. Unless i am forgetting you said 'Would Fergie allow that kind of player at Man U ? not a chance.', nothing about ability, and now you openly admit that he did in fact put up with that 'kind of player', so your point is completely worthless. Even if we was to bring ability into the equation ... Keane was arguably Manchester United's best player, as was Barton last year here. It's all relative.
