If the rumours are to be believed he was talking to Ashley about the as early as 2 weeks ago, since he's mates with him. Anybody who goes behind a fellow proffesional's back and is pals with Ashley deserves their bollocks chopped (he could probably do with this actually). Aye, but like you said they are rumours.. if this goes ahead the blame lies squarely on Ashley and Dereks door, they had the opportunity to choose their next manager - and they would rather not get the best man for the job but instead appoint their pal. Pardew shouldn't take the brunt of the blame just because he has been offerred a job. He's a manager out of work after all.

In fairness - it's not Alan Pardews fault at all. He's a bit of a tool and not even a good manager... but if he is offerred the job why shouldn't he take it exactly?

Guthrie has a heart the size of a walnut. Been saying this for ages and he's done nowt to prove me wrong. Barton has had bad games as well as good ones but he never hides. Liverpool away under Shearer? Or has that disappeared from your memory How did he hide? Before he got sent off he was our best player that day. Always showed for the ball. This unfortunately. Could be seen as wrong, given the plaudits he got after the mackem game, but results and performances since then (bar Arsenal) have been rotten. Questions need to be asked as to what we are doing. I'm afraid so, the media have been loving Hughton but some of our performances have been so bad. Some of Chelsea's performances have been so bad. Some of Manchester United's performances have been so bad. Some of Arsenal's performances have been so bad. ...Whats your point? We are 9th.
