  2. Eni Aluko? She's a canny player mind. Lots of pace and knows how to finish.
  3. Alan Partridge wouldn't be able to beat a monkey at tennis, so who cares what he thinks? some male journalists said something similar, so the England women's team challenged them to a match and well and truly spanked them. That was about 11-0 as well. You do realise Alan Partridge isn't a real person....? of course. I know it's Steve Coogan, but I just don't find that character funny, and since it was quoted as being a real person I answered it as if it was. I know most of this is just a wind up anyway. Some people will enjoy watching womens football and others won't admit it but mostly it's a kind of envy because you all wish you were playing for the Toon and for England. (or whatever)

That was about 11-0 as well. So your saying the women's team of one of the greatest footballing nations on Earth is only as good as a team made up of fat journalists? Nope. I didn't say that. Of course they are much better than that. But the sports journalists thought they were being clever and said they could beat the lasses but they were wrong. I'm not sure what it would take to prove whatever it is that women's football is supposed to have to prove anyway. No one takes the piss out of women sprinters or marathon runners so why do they do it with football so much? If the FA had left well alone last century then the women's game would have progressed as it should have and we'd be over this by now.
  5. Hopefully. The temperature always seems to make things difficult though, we're just not used to it. The women's team are not ranked as highly as the men's so the expectation isn't as great, but I think they will do ok. Must beat Argentina well now and should beat Japan to go through. Though it would also be canny if they don't get beat by Germany. Japan v England- 11 September, 1300 BST, Shanghai 1245 BST, BBC TWO/online

  7. That goalkeeper and the defence were a joke! and it doesn't do a lot to promote the Women's game, if you want to think that way, although Germany are probably the team to beat. in comparison in the men's game. World Cup Finals, biggest margins of victory. Hungary 9 v South Korea 0, 1954; Yugoslavia 9 v Zaire 0, 1974; Hungary 10 v El Salvador 1, 1982. World Cup Qualifiers: Australia 31 American Samoa 0. 2001.
  8. Owen and Harper are starting - Radio Newcastle ... don't know any more as yet.
  9. :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: :frantic: C'MON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What's the hold up? get Sam/Ashley/Mort on the phone and tell them... I'm not happy!
  10. I think "David Icke Son of God" (love that name!) is telling the truth. I googled them and somewhere along the line it came up with something dodgy about them. edit: maybe this is it. wikipedia. I don't believe it is going to happen at any rate so it doesn't matter now.

lets all sue Mike Ashley for however much we have spent on beer, wine and spirits, celebrating Dyer leaving. I'm sure there must be a law against it. You can't build hopes up like that!

Why on earth does these same old arguments keep turning up on the different threads? The answer is above the question. I've answered the question for him, as you didn't bother. Par for the course really I'm a lass. Your facts are wrong. Par for the course really.

  17. You can't claim it as the first English reportage till you put it on the front page tbh. Excellent news though. Hope it's really happening.
  18. Also in the Manchester Evening News by the way. They were right about Smith.

Well, if he's as sh*t and injury prone as everyone is saying on here, you won't be getting much more (based on appearances anyway). Like I said, he's not guaranteed to be first choice in any position. He was sh*t for us. It was time for him to move on for all our sakes. He might do well for you... who knows? We will still want our money!
  20. Why is he releasing this information though? Is he trying to tell other clubs to get in before Tuesday as a last act of revenge?
  21. I found this interesting. So that's confirmation then, that he is under suspicion. (disclaimer - I'm not saying he is guilty)
